5 out of 5 eggsery good buy

Pros: Easily set up and hidden. We live in a depression and have a metal roof. previously had possibly 1 bar and had to go outside to make calls and had to maintain landline. now 4 to 5 bars inside and no land line ,so product has paid for itself already.

Cons: Locating and attaching antenna was only difficulity to get best reception.

4 out of 5 eggsGood product but get the kit with directional antenna!

Pros: * Does what it says it will do - amplifies your available outside signal and sends the boosted signal to your inside antenna(s).

* Has everything in the kit to get you started for a basic installation... almost. (See con for no included lightning arrestor!)

* Once the antenna are up & installed (with the proper separation) and you have the coax run - just plug it in! You're done! Hardest part is finding good locations for antenna & then figuring out how to fish the coax through wall cavities.

* Easy to add additional antennas inside if you have a multi-story home, log home, etc.

* Directions are actually in English. And simple to follow! That's good enough for an egg all by itself!

Cons: * - GET THE DIRECTIONAL / YAGI ANTENNA KIT! The kit I ordered has an omni-directional external antenna which works but you cannot aim it toward the nearest cell tower. The omni antenna is ok if you have a good signal outside but if you're in a marginal area you'll spend all day on a ladder looking for a 'good signal'. (If you've been going outside to answer calls, you'll likely have a general idea where this spot is but may not be able to mount an antenna there.)

* Does NOT come with in-line lightning arrestor... That's mandantory for something up on your roof that's hooked up to several hundred $ worth of electronics! 2 different lighting arrestors are available - 1 for the omni-directional antenna and 1 for the directional antenna. If I understand correctly; the lightning arrestors have a different type connector than the included RG6 cable - which means ordering those as well. Grrr. Docked an egg for no arrestor in kit plus need for adapters.

* Coax wrapped up like a mummy.

Other Thoughts: * Call Wilson's tech line for correct lightning arrestor part # & adapters you need. You'll also need some ground wire to tie into ground - get the tech's recommendation.

* The included coax is precut at 50', 30', and 20'. Fits most installations but be prepared to visit Home Depot if you need a longer or shorter run or when the lightning arrestor goes in.

* Includes one inline coupler for the coax so you can hook two of the cables together. Pick up a couple of those when you get more coax or just have a cable made to length.

* Use waterproof wrap on connections after you're done.

* Kit won't work miracles if you don't have a good signal outside. Same goes if you have a multi-story home. You may need more than one inside panel antenna. Call Wilson's tech line 1st!

* Android users - "Signal Measurement" app is a simple signal meter. Other apps show nearby towers.

* Google up your cell provider's name w/ zip code + "cell tower location" for satellite maps of nearby towe

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome product

Pros: Ease of installation, plenty of cable and connector parts included, multiple mounting options, straight forward configuration

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Installed this in my basement of a 2 story brick home to increase cell coverage. I've never been able to get any signal there, and now I've got full 4G bars on AT&T. Very impressive, and maybe took me an hour to hook everything up.
