5 out of 5 eggshappy with the phone

Pros: Have used this phone system for at least 5 years, and the 2.4 mhz prior model for 10 yaers. Very happy with both.
Call quality every good or perfect at all times. All features work well. Did not have any of the problems notes by other reviewers, suspect they had defective equipment.

Cons: Digital read out too small, and should be clearer.

Some button too close together

Other Thoughts: I love this phone system even with the few limitations.

I wish they made a 6 line, 24 wireless phone system with a similar price point. Yes, they do make these business systems, but at a much higher price, and not much better functioning.

3 out of 5 eggs3 year life.

Pros: Cheapest multi-line phone

Cons: Plan on replacing this phone every 3 years for one reason or another. Bad power supply for the first one. Dropping calls on the second base unit. Upside - cordless sets just keep on trucking. Last thing - microphone on some handsets and definitely the base unit stinks. You continually get, "I can just barely hear you" everytime you are on a call.

4 out of 5 eggsworks

Pros: 4 lines
many features
on hold music
can transfer calls
cordless
good range
no static
headset works (not included)
audible without having to put every call on speakerphone
not flimsy (dropped a few times and still works)

Cons: whenever other lines rings it cuts out for a few seconds on the line you are talking on

“off” and "hold" buttons should be on opposite sides of the phone (too close to each other)

other end often has difficulty hearing unless you tilt the phone horizontally and speak into the hilt(holding it to your ear on the side of your head like with traditional phones does not work due to the lack of curvature in the handset)

some of the backlit LEDs stopped working within a week but we don’t care about that

NiMH instead of Li-ion

only line one can check messages (if line one is in use, no one can check message)

2 out of 5 eggsDisposable Rubbish

Pros: Fantastic specs, works well - when it works at all. 4-line capability, multiple handset expansion. Panasonic's reputed performance in this product sector.

Cons: Every vendor drops a "lemon" occasionally: Panasonic's KX-TG4500 is just one of those sour experiences. The base station is plagued by power sensitivity flaws. The LCD backlight flickers & strobes constantly. Base will not function without a battery installed. Whan AC is lost, the battery droops quickly. Battery must be recharged before base will again function. And without the base online & functional, all your wireless handsets are but paperweights! Not exactly a business-class product though the price might mislead you otherwise.

Other Thoughts: I failed to buy this from NewEgg. (Who's sorry now?) And I waited too long thinking the symptoms were due to something in my environment or application. (VoIP ATA's, FXO/FXS adapters, etc). Don't hesitate - when you see power-related "sickness" on your base station, send it back immediately. Or better yet, find an alternative product.

4 out of 5 eggsGood unit overall but...

Pros: Clear Signal, Nice features overall, flashing when call is coming in, all 4 lines work great - even at the same time, music on hold is nice, speakerphone seems to work great on handsets.

Cons: Wireless phone unit is failing after 5 months of use. Called Panasonic and had to complain and they agreed to warranty the phone. At first, we beleived it was the battery that was bad. After review, it was the phone.

Be advised, batteries are NOT covered under ANY warranty! This might be industry standard but it's worth noting.

3 out of 5 eggscan i just second Farago's review?

Pros: Price and expandability- it's an entry level phone system. Read Farago's review.

Cons: Read Farago's review. In addition, our base unit keeps recording all sorts of bogus messages, especially the tone that indicates the line has gone dead. Sometimes it records a "your call cannot be completed as dialed" message. Please tell me this product is not making calls on its own!

Other Thoughts: There's an adapter that allows you to import audio for hold music. Why can't this same feature be used to record greetings? Also, there doesn't seem to be a way to check your voicemail through the earpiece of your handset- it comes out through the speakerphone.

3 out of 5 eggsReasonable upgrade - Still fundamentally flawed

Pros: * Much appreciated improvements include:
* Speaker phone in handsets
* 5.8 GHz - reduces collisions with wireless routers
* Music on hold
* Flashing antenna on handset

Cons: * Truly horrible omnidirectional microphone located beneath base station is STILL the only input method for attendant greetings. This is our greatest disappointment - callers are greeted with acoustically hideous greetings full of ambient noise so typical of cheap omni mikes - the kind used on camcorders.
* Solution - Flip base system over to speak clearly into omni microphone located beneath system - or put a blanket over your base station when recording your greeting - we found this the best way improve sonic quality - and ahem! Panasonic! - fix this!

Other Thoughts: CONCLUSIONS -
We are also extremely embarrassed by manufacturers choice of faux-snob British voice prompts - they are in bad taste and will likely cause us to replace this system.

Seems to me the reason for choosing a small business phone system is to improve customer experience - this will not do that.

Customers experience is compromised by
* Having to use non standard functions like adding "#" suffix to reach extension selections
* Poor voice quality of base system greeting recordings
* Ridiculously self-conscious faux-British system prompts
