DECT 6.0 Plus Cordless Phone System with Caller ID (Additional handset)
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TGA651B 1.9 GHz DECT 6.0 Plus accessory handset
Pros: I got one of these as part of a set of 3 with a base unit. All have worked well. Have had them for several years when I cut my connection with my land line and went to an Internet line. Batteries work for a long time when calling - my calls usually last less than 90 minutes with an hour or so between calls, so I don't know how long they will really last while calling. I can connect 2 different cell phones to the base unit via Bluetooth so I can answer from any of the base units while the cell phone is recharging. The phones will connect thru the whole house and outside as well. The rechargeable batteries are replaceable - i haven't had to do that yet, however.
Cons: These are minor cons - mostly things i wish the phones did that they were not designed to do. I have one in my bedroom. When I have a voicemail, the darn thing (annoying at night) keeps flashing a little yellow LED until I retrieve the voicemail, but I can do that from any of the phones, not just the base unit. When I switched to cell only service, the phone jack on the back of the base unit will not power on a standard telephone. The contact list on my phones does not sync with the Panasonic phones, so the only way to see who is calling is if the caller's number is programmed into the Panasonic's list - that is, you can see the number of the caller (if it's not blocked), but the caller's name will not come up unless the name and number are stored in the Panasonic's database.
Other Thoughts: I really like these phones. I do wish my cell phone's contact list synced with the Panasonic's. Maybe I need a newer system for that?
