DECT 6.0 Plus Technology
Takes the superb sound quality and outstanding range of DECT 6.0 phones to a new level. We've increased the frequency of error correction up to 80x, improving sound quality and extending transmission range.

Power Back-Up Operation (Base Unit)
What happens to your phone when there's a power outage? Not to worry. With the KX-TG66771, featuring Power Back-Up Operation so you can still make and receive calls from the base unit corded handset when the power goes out.

Intelligent Eco Mode
This clever new feature automatically lowers the power consumption when you're using the handset close to the base unit. Not only does it extend the available talk time, it's good for the environment. When less power is used by the handset to communicate with the base unit, battery life is prolonged which results in less frequent charging and can result in fewer batteries in landfills.

5 out of 5 eggsPanasonic KX-TG6672B - Refurbished

Pros: Bought these phones on Panasonic's reputation. Good house phones at a fraction of the price. The base unit feels sturdy with large buttons. The 2 cordless units feel somewhat light and have a lower quality feel to them but the sound and voice quality are top notch. They fit perfectly in your hand and the speaker function is great with no humming or distortion...crystal clear. LCD screen is large. Good quality phones, highly recommended.

Cons: Phone keeps losing time so I can't rely on the time people have called when looking through my call logs. Not a big issue as I use my cell phone most times.

Other Thoughts: Would have preferred them in white or silver as dust collects fast on black.

5 out of 5 eggsPanasonic TX-TG6672B Digital DECT 6.0 Corded/Cordless Phones & Answering Machine

Pros: Absolutely compatible with VOIP/IP phone service with most if not all service providers. Dependable, great transmitting and receiving voice quality and features allow for phone usage even if power goes out. I have my corded phone unit plugged into an optional battery backup power source(UPS), as an additional safeguard for power failures so that all functions, ie. phone messaging retrieval and LCD display, etc. continue to work. In addition, I have expanded from the included 2 to the maximum of 6 wireless phones so that I can have a phone in most areas of the house.

Cons: The one negative for the VOIP service that I use is that the service provider, (Ooma), needed to change, on their end, the musical dial tone that is the default on their service back to the standard dial tone that has been in existence forever. The reason was that the answering machine malfunctioned whenever someone called my number. That is, If they chose to leave a message, it was recorded clearly, but at the end, there was that pesky, Ooma music dial tone at the end of their message. But, even more unacceptable was that when someone chose to hang up even before the "leave the message prompt," I received an indication of a message anyway with only the music dial tone. It turned out that about 75-85% of the indicated messages were not filled with any vocal responses so it took too much of my time to listen, filter out these, and note the few that did want a return call. Again, a first or second tier technician must be alerted to this and be asked to change the dial tone to a standard dial tone.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent phone

Pros: Excellent call quality even at long distances and through concrete walls.
Uses rechargeable AAA batteries which is a plus if you ever need to replace them.
Owned for more than a year and never had any issues with it.

Cons: If anything, and it's not a big deal to me, the voice Caller ID doesn't pronounce things very well so it has limited utility.

4 out of 5 eggsClear reception - Good phone

Pros: Long battery life with eco function.
Talking caller ID
VERY clear speaker phone XMIT and RECEIVE
Does not interfere with my WIFI
Long Range - Can walk all over my 2 story house without static,
Built-In caller block function works great - take THAT telemarketers!
Large, bright, easy-to-read LED screens.

Cons: No option to keep LED back light on with base unit.
Base unit handset feels cheap and too light.
Some features not available from the base unit.

Other Thoughts: Some reviews complain of a low resolution screen. I find the screen adequate for use, clear, bright, and very easy to read. Also I had no problems using the user interface as some reviewers have stated. I feel the UI is easy enough to follow, however, what IS perplexing to me is that you cannot add entries to the address book from the base unit.. I find this very odd and a nuisance when I want to add a new number when at my desk. For this it looses 1 egg.

3 out of 5 eggsGood functionality, below average screens

Pros: Supports Wired Hands-free to the headset (convenient for meetings/long conversations).
Base works during power outage
Call quality quite good, handsets are light and have belt-clips.
Another Big Plus - Handsets Use 2 AAA Ni-MH Rechargeable batteries, so over time you can easily change them when they stop holding charge. Tthe batteries that ship with this phone are low capacity, you can easily get better ones and extend talk time if needed.

Cons: The LCD Screens have very low resolution. Does not have alarm, menus are not very intuitive, not very user friendly. Design of base is cheap looking, handsets are ok.

Other Thoughts: If you don't need hands-free capability, check out the GE phones which are cheaper, have better design, much better screen and better feature set.
