5 out of 5 eggsWorth it?

Pros: The cable works great. Cannot knock any eggs for function.

Cons: I am just not sure that it was worth the extra $$. You will not see a change in picture quality, so drastic, that will make your jaw drop. It does look minimally better, at best, on my 42" widescreen. It was worth a try.

Other Thoughts: Maybe when the Wii 2 is released, Nintendo will enter the high def arena.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter

Pros: High def? No but that's because it's Nintendo guys. They don't specialize in graphics, just wacky controllers ;)

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I don't know if there is any discernible difference between this component cable and the composite(RCA) cable that comes with the Wii but I can tell you the images look crisp and clear on my 720p television. I have other devices connected by composite that don't look nearly this defined.

Cons: The length of the cable was perfect, the composite cable that comes with the Wii would have been to short.

5 out of 5 eggsGood length, good weight

Pros: Nice intermediate length cable. I didn't cut it open to see what the actual wire gauge is, but judging from the thickness of the cables, it's decent. Seems robustly made; much better than the anorexic third-party Xbox component cables I got (silly me, didn't bother to get component cables for my old Xbox when Microsoft was still making them).

Though, admittedly...video quality seems about the same with either. But I still like these ones better. :)

Cons: Frankly, s-video is so much closer in quality to component than to composite, being able to go progressive scan versus the interlaced s-video isn't really _that_ noticeable an improvement.

Other Thoughts: I wish the Wii did higher resolutions.

On the other hand, I found out after I got component cables for my Xbox that only certain games offer anything more than 480p anyway, and very few will do 1080p. I'm guessing the Wii would've been about the same even if it did; so kudos to Nintendo for realizing that and not confusing the consumer about what resolutions they'd get. :)

These are great cables to get if you want to eke out that last smidgen of video quality from your Wii. Just don't expect too much.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Well

Pros: It is a cable; it works as intended. Picture quality is fine.

Cons: None (see below)

Other Thoughts: I have not done a comparison between this and the standard RCA cable, but I have no complaints over the picture quality. Note that this cable will not provide a higher (HDTV) resolution -- the Wii console is only capable of outputting 480i and 480p.

5 out of 5 eggsIt worked. I can't complain.

Pros: Good price and plenty long.

Cons: I don't think you can really go wrong with a cable. It pretty much either works or it doesn't.

Other Thoughts: I bought this one because it was one of the least expensive component cables on Newegg (I also had seen the MadCatz name associated with gaming peripherals before too). When I got it, I was surprised how long it actually was.
