Welcome to a brawl for the ages, where anything can happen, anyone can show up and all bets are off. Super Smash Bros. Brawl features a sprawling adventure mode called "The Subspace Emissary" that's a full game in and of itself. Players jump and brawl their way through enemy-packed side-scrolling levels, meeting up with other characters, watching incredible cinematics and taking on massive bosses. >In multiplayer games, characters from all Nintendo universes meet up in Nintendo locales to duke it out. In the solo mode called "The Subspace Emissary," the world of Smash Bros. is invaded by an entity called the Ancient Minister and his army of creatures, called "The Primid." Normally, characters come alive in the world of Smash Bros. to do battle, then turn back into trophies when defeated. However, the Ancient Minister starts turning characters into trophies to harness their power, then detonates bombs that suck pieces of the world back into his realm of Subspace. Eventually, all the characters must work together to defeat the invading creatures from Subspace - this is accomplished by playing through side-scrolling levels.

Welcome to a brawl for the ages, where anything can happen, anyone can show up and all bets are off.

Game storyline: In multiplayer games, characters from all Nintendo universes meet up in Nintendo locales to duke it out.

How to progress through the game: For multiplayer games, players pick characters, set rules and locations for where they want to play and then duke it out. In Solo Mode, characters play through a long, side-scrolling adventure, beating up enemies along the way as they watch short cinematics starring their favorite characters.

Characters: Mario, Samus, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Solid Snake, Meta Knight, Kirby, Pikachu, Zero Suit Samus, Link, Zelda, Pit and Wario, to name just a few. Anyone and anything from a Nintendo universe could appear in this game in one form or another.

Special powers/weapons/moves/features: Anything from a Nintendo game could conceivably be in this game, whether it's a musical score, an obscure item or a character that shows up to help the fighters. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is eminently customizable, so players can choose the frequency of items appearing, adjust musical scores and basically play the game however they'd like. Items range from baseball bats to proximity mines to Poké Balls to Assist Trophies, which spawn characters like Hammer Bros. and Sim City's Dr. Wright

5 out of 5 eggsA must own Nintendo title

Pros: One of the best fighting games around, if your an ssb melee pro, download Project M for brawl, changes the game physics to melee(incl wavedashing) and adds back dr mario, mewtwo, and a plethora of great modifications, Project M makes this game worthy of tournaments. A+ game!

Cons: Play with the official Project M mod(not supported by Nintendo) on the SD card. Makes everything so much better!

5 out of 5 eggsIf you own a Wii, then you MUST have this game!

Pros: Fantastic game from the ground up.
Wide variety of characters, 39 Characters to choose from, with 14 of those needing to be unlocked, each one unique in various ways.
Vastly expanded Single player mode (Subspace Emissary) that has an actual story, compared to Melee's single player.
Various Challenges to unlock music, trophies, stickers, etc.
Stickers add a new depth to Single Player.
Difficulty level ranging from very easy to sadistically hard.
Online play (it's worked 95% of the time for me) adds a ton of fun for people who don't have friends that can come over and play.
The added Custom Stage Builder feature makes the list of possible stages as long as you system/SD Card can hold.
TONS of collectibles (trophies, Stickers, music, etc.).
Boss Battles add a new element of difficulty to the series.
Everything in Stadium mode has been improved, and made a little more difficult than Melee's.
Iconic characters like Sonic and Snake have joined the fray.

Cons: Character tripping can get annoying at times, but can sometimes level the playing field.
With multiplayer, new people tend to just button mash and not develop a strategy or skill with the game.
To the unobservant, some characters can seem like clones. (Ness is not the same as Lucas, as their move behave differently. For example, Ness' PK Fire move hits the enemy and becomes a pillar of fire and does more damage if the enemy stays there. Lucas' PK Fire move, when it hits the enemy, does more damage at first and has more knockback, but is more of an explosion and does not linger like Ness').
Online has some lag (but now that the game's been out for awhile, the lag seems to have reduced a lot)
Unless you have an SD Card with your save file on it, taking the game elsewhere will require you to unlock the characters again
Friend Code sharing is generally annoying. Nintendo needs online profiles and a standard friends feature. (THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE GAME ITSELF, JUST NINTENDO)

Other Thoughts: Overall, I would consider this to be one of, if not THE, best game on the Wii. Friends or not, you can get hundreds of hours of fun out of this game. This game did what most sequels fail to do: Take everything from the predecessors and enhance it and improve it, while still adding new things, to make it feel like a whole new experience, and an old familiar one at the same time. With so many features, fantastic gameplay, and extremely minor problems, I have to honestly say that, in my opinion, this is one of the greatest games ever made, and is a must-have for anyone that owns a Wii.

2 out of 5 eggsButton Masher Game

Pros: none

Cons: I watched my friends little brother play this and all I can say is lol. Half the time your jumping around button mashing the same moves over and over even though they miss your target; reminds me of random mario kart races where you have little control over the outcome. I've never heard of some of the playable characters they have. This game also seems to lack a combo system; which all good fighter games have. This is not a must have product for Wii as it will only appeal to a certain gender(usually young boys).

Other Thoughts: I do not own this game but I do have a Wii and I will never buy this product. I cant stand to even look at this game after 10 minutes.

5 out of 5 eggsMelee x2!

Pros: This is probably my favorite mutliplayer games of all time. Takes all the greatness of melee and adds more.
The characters are far more balanced in the version. In melee the light and heavy weights were always pretty gimp compared to the medium weights. They fixed that in this game.

Cons: None that i know of

Other Thoughts: I heard that online play was bad, but never tried it myself.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great multiplayer gameplay, new characters, excellent graphics, custom maps, and classic Gamecube maps

Cons: Loading times, Subspace Emissary single-player can get tedious and repetitive, online play (see below)

Other Thoughts: The online mode did not work at all. It didn't even give me a warning; it just had me wait indefinitely for other players who never appeared. I've found that other people have had this problem too; it apparently has a problem with some routers (and mine would likely be among that number as it only cost $2). Still, the problem I know the problem is software, not hardware, because Mario Kart Wii works fine online.

Other people have complained about the Wii controls. While the Wii remote by itself is hard to work with, I've found that the remote and nunchuck are easy enough after you get used to them.

5 out of 5 eggsThis game is amazing

Pros: This is such a great game! I can never stop playing it once I start. One time, me and my cousin played through an entire subspace emissary in one go! It's just so much fun.

Cons: As mentioned before, the Wii controls are pretty bad. I play it with a G-cube controller always.

Other Thoughts: While I don't own this game at my own house, my cousin has it and we play it together all the time. I'm thinking of buying it for myself sometime, whether it's off Newegg of at the video game store in my town. This game always deserves a new 5-star review!
