5 out of 5 eggsBest game I've ever played

Pros: Open World where you can go where you want, do what you want, whenever you want; DLC expandable; endless missions and side missions; create your own potions/gear/weapons; a variety of "unique" enemy types; magicka development; progressive barter system; excellent story.

Cons: Some console issues: disc freeze i.e. game gets "stuck"; slow performance.

Other Thoughts: Best game I've played hands down. It's the first open world game that allows you to do nearly anything you'd like where and when you'd like to do it. The longer you play the more addictive the game is -I've played well over 1000 hours to date and keep going over and over finding new things to do. Truly amazing and I would gladly pay well over $100 for another game anywhere near the experience I had with this one.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good game

Pros: Bethesda jam packed all of this action into one game, and they kept the action flowing throughout the game evenly.

Cons: The graphics look better on ps3 but thats only because Xbox games have to be put on a 16 gb disk and a ps3 game can be put on a 25 gb disk.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Good

Pros: Lots to do, non-linear progression throughout the game.

Cons: I'm pretty sure Bethesda pays people to write reviews. Their games aren't anywhere near as good as the reviewers would have you believe. Graphics in all of their games are terrible, combat is boring and extremely repetitive, quests are very shallow (kill 10 of these then claim a reward).

5 out of 5 eggsKeeps getting better

Pros: Bethesda and it's DEVs have done a wonderful job keeping the bugs to a minimum and developing a stable platform for many, many hours of quest immersion, dungeon clearing, dragon slaying and character improvement. You don't have to worry about alignments and for the most part you are what you sow. Not a lot of magical items laying around, you make your own. Smithing and Alchemy are intriquing additions to this Elder Scrolls addition. There are literally100s of side quests and NPCs keeping your hero hopping all over the map of Skyrim. You can get married, buy lots of homes, display your armor and weapons, choose from dozens of followers and mercenaries, keep a pet dog, be a vampire or werewolf, kill the emperor, pick and choose daedric and divine quests, learn some pretty cool shouts, kill bunny rabbits and so on. I'm enjoying my archer Nord, some of the battles have been really challenging and engaging. You're the Dragonborn and your destiny is what you make it.

Cons: The main quest with the Nords and Ullfric could have been more epic as they fight for their autonomy from the Imperials, anyway they should not be in Solitude after that battle. Some of the side quests are repeated or do not clear from your journal, though it doesn't seem to affect playability that much.

Other Thoughts: I can't wait for new downloads and add-ons.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Game!

Pros: As with other Elder Scrolls games, this one is massive. Tons of places to go and things to do.

This game is a lot of fun. You can customize your character to your particular play style, or even play through the game using different characters and different play styles to get even more out of it.

Combat is challenging, but can be quite frustrating at times.

The music is awesome! Nothing pumps you up for battling Burninators than some Viking Battle Chants: "DOVAHKIIN! DOVAHKIIN! NOT A SINGLE SARDINE! OBADIAH VOCAL, NO FAR ORCHESTRAL!"

Cons: I felt the Civil War quest line needed a much better resolution: an epic boss battle against Ulfric would have been awesome, but as it is, the ending is lame.

Could have used better race/faction interactions and consequences.

The game can be very buggy at times. Lag is sometimes a problem. And some of the quests - if you accidentally do something the game doesn't expect - can be broken. Follower AI isn't very good at times.

Other Thoughts: Some might say that the fact you can't completely max out all your skills is a problem. To me, that's actually a plus: you shouldn't be able to master everything, but should focus on skills that fit your playing style.

All in all, this is a solid game in the Elder Scrolls franchise. Well worth playing if you love RPG's or if you want a medieval style action-fighting game. The pluses far outweigh the negatives.

2 out of 5 eggsEldar trolls

Pros: The graphics overall are pretty nice.

Cons: Horrible load times. When you get into town to sell, smith, enchant... you spend much more time looking at load screens then playing. You only level up with skill increases forcing you to switch your skills used if you want to continue to level up. You really turn out spamming the repetition to gain skills so you can level up in the perks you want. They have a major bug in the inventory system so after only a short play money is worthless and after a mission gaining you a book, you can max out your levels. Also the main mission is way to easy to complete, like by level 10, and there is little drive to keep playing.

Other Thoughts: They need to close the loopholes in the game and spread out the main mission a bit more. They also need to give you perks to spend only in the skills you gained them in and just drop the entire level up part. Make the 3 stats just 3 more skills with perks too. This would let you stick to a character type or class easier and just gain experience in stuff you are actually doing.
