4 out of 5 eggsSome buttons stopped working, Win Media Center DVR Remote

Pros: Compact controller, nice button layout. Receiver works as well as my original Dell/Microsoft receiver. I really liked this remote.

Cons: Remote has a limited range of about 10 feet; beyond that, it seems to be hit or miss. Play and Pause buttons stopped working after about one year of use. I use the pause button frequently while watching TV, so this remote is nearly worthless now. Green WMC button also stopped working, but I could live without that one.

Other Thoughts: Purchased it Aug 2014, started using it April 2015 (when I finally cut the cord on satellite TV.) Buttons failed March 2016. Would have purchased another of this same remote, but it is no longer offered. The death of WMC might be to blame for this one.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks, that's about it

Pros: Works

Cons: Cheap quality, cheap plastic, feels flimsy, I accidentally broke the IR receiver

Other Thoughts: I accidentally broke the receiver while integrating it into my case, but I bought an after market internal receiver and the remote works great with it.

5 out of 5 eggsLoved it so much I bought a second when on sale

Pros: Sleek design
Pick up is good with included dongle and wide pointing area, can point in about 180 degree direction of tv and it will still register.
Long batter life, My old one lasted over a year with cheap Panasonic Dollar Tree batteries.

Cons: There are no cons, Works great with WMC on win 7 64bit. I guess if I had to pick a con I would be hard pressed to come up with one.

Other Thoughts: I've owned one of these for almost 3 years and just picked up a second one when they were on sale a couple weeks ago for $10. If you use WMC for the HTPC DVR these work great. Cant comment on other programs as I've not tested them outside of WMC

Pros: Plug and play with my 15 year old Dell pre-built machine I have running Kodibuntu, could not have been easier.

Cons: I didn't buy more of these on sale!

5 out of 5 eggsGets the job done

Pros: Still using this after almost 4 years for my HTPC. Tried several, always come back to this one.

Cons: If you're using XBMC/Kodi, some of the buttons aren't mapped by default. That's the case with most of these IR remotes, I've found. The important functions work out of the box though.

Other Thoughts: Highly recommended.

1 out of 5 eggsWOW what a bad remote

Pros: Some of the buttons work

Cons: Only some of the buttons work with Kodi/XBMC (windows), no out of the box functionality for Linux based Kodi/XBMC.

Other Thoughts: Bought with the intentions of using with a Linux based Kodi/XBMC setup. Does not work out of the box.
Tried to use with a different Windows based Kodi/XBMC setup for client. It says its a RC6 Remote, its not. Used Eventghost to remap the half of the buttons that would work. Had to remap the "Green Windows button", play, stop, pause, FF, RR, Skip+, Skip- to other buttons. This Remote throws random codes for some of the upper buttons. Its just impossible to pin down what its going to throw.

If you want a controller that will throw consistent and known RC6 signals do not get this remote. The receiver isnt that great for Linux, the remote is horrible for Windows. The only thing its got going for it is that it came in a sturdy box.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Made for WMC, and works just fine.
This is meant to be a relatively low cost remote control, and it fulfills my expectations.

Works in Linux Mint, Xbuntu and Ubuntu
Works with Raspberry Pi-2
The IR receiver also works with all other RC6 iR devices, such as the MicroSoft model 1044 wireless multimedai keyboard and model HA-IR01SV (TSHA-IR01)

Cons: This isn't a gold plated MIL spec device.
It's a low cost RC6-standard remote control and IR receiver.

Other Thoughts: I bought another "similarly" priced remote, only to find out that the "other" remote won't work with my Microsoft RC6 wireless keyboard device (like my old model HA-IR01SV (TSHA-IR01) remote control does).

Kudos to Rosewill, -and you should mention it's RC6 iR compatable

4 out of 5 eggsWorks perfectly with WMC

Pros: Provides all the functions you need on Windows Medica Center. Also very inexpensive so those are the pluses.

Cons: buttons are small and has no lights so in the dark if you are watching TV it is difficult to use.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: It works great for me in Linux, and it was a decent price.

Cons: Would be nice if the buttons lit up so I could see them in the dark.

Other Thoughts: Used with XBMC/Kodi in an Arch Linux media center.
