4 out of 5 eggsBad USB Port

Pros: Not a touch screen so my wife can use it.
Handles all 4 of my devices with full function on all devices.
Battery life is good, about 3 months
Easy to setup with download software

Cons: Program on line does not have all the functionality as the download software.
USB port failed on my first one, so I could not reprogram the remote. The remote worked fine with my original settings, just could not add to it. This one works fine.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace an e 250 that finally gave up the ghost after 4 years.
This is my second one of this type. The USB port failed on the first one, no way to program it. I had it all setup and tried to add some more function when I found the USB cable would not stay in and it could not communicate with the remote. All the original settings still worked.

5 out of 5 eggsFirst harmony remote I used and I'm positively impressed

Pros: Set up was a breeze: just downloaded the software on my Mac and hooked to remote via the standard USB cable. It seemed to know all my devices and I configured activities like watch TV, watch Apple TV, listen to music on Apple TV in no time.
Then I was impressed how it knows to switch to the proper HDMI input on my TV, turn on or off the Verizon STB, toggle power on my Yamaha soundbar, switch input, all with the press of a button.
I'm happy to need only this remote now (most of the time), down from 4 remotes.

Cons: Unfortunately because of the infra red technology you do have to keep the remote pointed towards your devices quite a bit of time. More than once some of the devices where either not turned on or not switched to the proper setting (input). It's usually an easy fix using the help button and on screen prompts but just a bit annoying.
Also no PS3 control unless you buy a separate bluetooth transmitter. I already have a universal remote from SONY for the PS3 and that one is junk, it's always unpaired and unusable.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure if the infra red transmission time can be improved upon. I'm quite content with this remote, although if I'd be filthy rich I would probably try the ultimate remote ($350 MSRP). For 90% of homes this remote will do. You'll still need your game remote to control your playstation, but I would use that one anyway, as once in a while I want to play games too.

4 out of 5 eggsSuitable replacement for my old 688

Pros: Works like it said it was supposed to. Fairly painless configuration through wizard-like set up. Worked first try with only minor tweaks required.

Cons: My old login ID (from 10 years ago) was no longer in the system so I had to reconfigure all settings one device at a time. The setup program doesn't seem like it has as much control as it did before Logitech taking them over. For example it is harder to figure out how to get the TV to switch using discrete inputs rather than sending the input signal repeatedly until it cycled to the right input. I remember it being a lot easier before, but it has been many years since I've had to reconfigure.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Remote, but...

Pros: Easy to program, once I figured out that the USB cable provided to connect with my PC was defective. Works well.

Cons: Provided USB cable was defective and I spent a frustrating hour trying to connect with my PC to program the remote.

Other Thoughts: I would like to have the cable replaced, but apparently cannot send back only the cable; must also send the remote, which after substituting another cable is working fine.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking just fine

Pros: setup was easy using Logitech downloadable app on windows 7. Handled our older Yamaha receiver and newer Samsung tv. buttons are arranged well. It also handles 8 devices - Newegg should update the description!

Cons: when we started the setup it asked if we wanted to update the setting - on-line - from an older unit. That seemed like a good idea. But, it didn't let us pick which older one and it picked the wrong one. When we deleted that to start over we also lost the stored(online) setting for the older unit. Seems they only keep settings for your latest unit.

4 out of 5 eggsI love these remotes

Pros: Does anything you want it to do, if only you can figure out how.

Cons: Logitech is awful at driver and UI design.

Other Thoughts: This is definitely for the geeks in the room. Average joe won't be able to figure out the software which is why you see some seriously negative reviews on it. When you know what you're doing you'll wonder how you ever got along without one.

4 out of 5 eggsHappy with remote

Pros: Controls all my devices. Programmable with online software. User programmable from device remotes. Works as described. online programming very easy.

Cons: Small buttons. LED screen stays on all the time it's in your hand whether you are simply changing channels. Battery drain. Doesn't feel very substantially made it's very light.

Other Thoughts: Overall happy with this remote. It is very customizable and very easy to program from my experience. I was up and running after about 15 minutes of using the setup program. Not sure why everyone else is having difficulties. If you're tech savvy setup is a breeze. My only hope is this will be durable as it seems to be rather cheaply made to me.

5 out of 5 eggsNot Bad

Pros: straight forward use, nothing too tricky about it.

Good PC software to program it with

Looks nice, it isnt bulky or ugly to have sitting out

Cons: My ONLY real beef I have with it, and maybe there is a solution for it, but if someone turns on or off the TV not using the remote, you have to cover the IR on the remote and turn the remote to match the status of the TV.

EX if the remote thing your system is off but someone turned the TV on by hand, you have to hit the "watch TV' or whatever button to turn the remote to that setting, but if you dont cover the IR port, it will turn the TV off, ect...

It hasn't been annoying enough to google or figure out if there was a solution, so I wont dock an egg for me being lazy.
