5 out of 5 eggsWOW! Nice remote

Pros: VERY capable universal remote. In just a matter of a few minutes, it was up and running replacing 6 remotes. It really gives full emulation too. Even the most obscure buttons are available. "Activities" functions allow quick transitions between, say, watching TV or switching to a PC secondary display or listening to the radio. The "MyHarmony" computer software makes it super easy to configure devices via a USB connection. Just enter the MFR and Model of the box you want to control, download to the remote and your done. It has a 'tip' sensor so it can detect when you pick it up and it turns itself on/off automatically. The LCD screen and 'soft' buttons are really handy for exposing lots of obscure button functions in a menu. You can assign any function to just about any key on the remote. If a function isn't listed from the database, you can teach this remote from the original remote and you're back in action.

Cons: While the software makes configuring the remote easy, it requires an internet connection. It would be better if it was 'stand alone' with an opportunity to update over the net only if necessary. This isn't a problem for me though. Another con, though not serious, is a relatively flat and thin design near the front or tip, while it's round and thick in the back. I find this odd, constantly changing shape feels rather clumsy in my hand. I'll probably get used to it though. With an LCD screen on-board, I'm curious how long the two AA batteries will last.

Other Thoughts: Did I say "WOW!" ? This thing picked up every single function on my Comcast Motorolla DCX3200-M cable box, an OPPO BD player, a Yamaha tuner-receiver, a Sangean HD radio, a Panasonic DVD player, and a Samsung smart TV. You can control each device individually, or as a group based on 'activity'. I'm very impressed, even with only a few hours use. Well worth the pittance spent, assuming it doesn't fail anytime soon. ;-)

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Nice display.

Cons: Terrible software. Lots of time wasted just trying to get activities and devices to appear in a logical order on the display without success. My older Harmony remote with the older (7.7.0) software worked great but this new software is less functional and much harder to use.

Other Thoughts: Would not buy again or recommend to others.

Pros: excellent universal ir remote

Cons: not rf

3 out of 5 eggsWorks great until it breaks

Pros: Great remote, easy to program and works with all of my devices. Media center pc, Yamaha Tuner and Samsung TV.

Cons: Ordering my 3rd one in 5 years. Maybe that's normal but I think a remote should last longer than that especially when it's used by adults only.

5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: All I can say is wow. I should have gotten this remote a long time ago. What caused me to purchase it is my 22 year old Pioneer Receiver/Amp. I picked up my remote for it the other day and it was dead. I was like man, because the Pioneer remote controlled most everything on the Amp. After a couple trips to the amp to turn it on, etc. I started looking. I read reviews, I read forums and decided I would give this a try.
UPS delivered it and in a matter of minutes I was controlling all my components from this remote. What shocked me initially was the software. I installed it, created account, let the s/w do the initial setup and I was nearly ready to go. So I type in Pioneer and VSX-9900S into the database and wham it is added to my device list, then my old Pioneer C/D player, wham, it's there, the rest of the components are modern so they were there also. I setup each device, which is easy, not unless your brain dead, and then it uploaded to the remote and I was ready to go. So yes, I am very happy!

Cons: None Yet

Other Thoughts: Did I say Wow?

2 out of 5 eggsOnly for Legacy OS's

Pros: Replaces most remotes.

Cons: Absolutely no support for modern computer systems other than Windows or Mac.

My Harmony is now impossible to program since my old Mac can no longer be updated to the latest Java. Chromebooks, Linux, Android, iOS are not supported. This device is Oracle Java dependant. Prepare for manual installation of and configuration of Java software if you purchase this. I would not recommend this device to a friend.

Other Thoughts: I've never been able to leave the other remotes hidden away. If any device self powers off, the Harmony takes about 50 button presses, reading glasses and 2 minutes to get the system back on. Every remote has come out of my drawers and now sits next to the couch.

4 out of 5 eggsBad USB Port

Pros: Not a touch screen so my wife can use it.
Handles all 4 of my devices with full function on all devices.
Battery life is good, about 3 months
Easy to setup with download software

Cons: Program on line does not have all the functionality as the download software.
USB port failed on my first one, so I could not reprogram the remote. The remote worked fine with my original settings, just could not add to it. This one works fine.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace an e 250 that finally gave up the ghost after 4 years.
This is my second one of this type. The USB port failed on the first one, no way to program it. I had it all setup and tried to add some more function when I found the USB cable would not stay in and it could not communicate with the remote. All the original settings still worked.
