One For All universal DIRECTV remote replaces lost or broken remotes and controls up to 4 AV components. Designed to operate all features of the DIRECTV receiver and works with any DIRECTV receiver. This new remote can do everything the Infrared can do, and more. It's Radio Frequency (RF) capable so you don't have to point your remote at your system to control it. Down a hallway and around a 90 degree corner about 25-30 feet works fairly well. Cons: Shoots down a hallway and around a corner, but does not shoot through 2 interior walls, approx range 25-30 feet. Range/power leaves a lot to be desired. Other Thoughts: Not a con on the remote, but on the system: You cannot use an IR remote in the same room as the receiver and a RF remote in a different room, at least with the H23-600. NorthDynamic 10/27/2011 7:31:16 AM Tech Level: 4/5 Ownership: 4/5 Verified Owner	Rating: 5/5Great Remote Pros: RF! Backlit keypad. Combined with IR so you still get to use it as an all in one remote. Cons: None. Other Thoughts: I've replaced my IR remotes with RF which is much better! I have one HD DVR with an HDMI splitter which connects to my bedroom TV. With a separate RF remote upstairs I can watch HD TV and all my DVR recordings in 2 rooms with a single HD DVR. Also the backlit keys are perfect, the button on the side easily activates or de-activates them in a snap. If your receiver is RF capable, I highly recommend switching to RF.
