4 out of 5 eggsGreat Security DVR for home!

Pros: Full D-1 recording on all 4 channels.
Front facing usb2 connection as well as 2 on the back.
Nice to have so many function buttons on the faceplate not just the remote and mouse.
Good playback and recording options.

Cons: no internal fan is about the worst I can say about it!

Other Thoughts: Simple
easy to install
good capabilities.

Much better than the esec*^# I had before that was connected to an UPS and still failed during a power outage!

2 out of 5 eggscould have been a contender

Pros: cheap , records can take 2.5 or 3.5 hard drives. fairly easy to setup. small form. somewhat loud compared to other DVR's I have used.

good set of instructions for getting it up and running.

Cons: does not take pictures to send in email alarms.
overly Motion Detection sensitive even on lowest sensitivity.
poor user interface.

the instruction are clear but some of the higher end functions they use do not make sense.

Other Thoughts: I would not buy this if I had to do it over. I had a Kguard dvr die on me after two years and just needed a new dvr. I got this setup but when you setup alerts and Motion Detection on minimum settings, the alerts come non stop even when nothing is on screen. the UI is a bit clumsy but nothing to extreme.

4 out of 5 eggssurprising for the money

Pros: I didnt expect much for a $50 dvr. And im happy to say im happy with what i received. Threw in a repurposed hard drive, hooked up my cameras, and everything works as it should. Ive only had it couple weeks so i cant say how long it lasts. I like the guis, it took a while to get the app on the phone to work but i did.

Cons: I dont see any. Id like to add an internal fan to it to make it last a little longer. It works well, id just like to see it last.

Other Thoughts: For the price, hard to beat. For me its a toy, but it will do its job watching the house for me while im gone. Get good cameras.
