4 out of 5 eggsIt works!

Pros: It works. Setup was insanely easy for me. I installed it, connected it to my router, turned it on and it was a go. Netflix playback works awesome for me, but I do not have a 1080 capable TV.

Cons: The only con is the USB port under the drive bay cover on the front. Since I rarely use BrL, it isnt a huge deal for me. Not being able to play network-shared video/music was a big con for me, but with just about any hardware, always a tradeoff (price in this case).

Other Thoughts: I will come back and change this review to 5 stars if LG adds Hulu to this player. (Hint Hint)

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent network Blu-ray player

Pros: quick starting, excellent picture quality. I use it to stream netflix, youtube movies - hassle free.

Cons: not much that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: my previous DVD player - can 'remember' 10 different DVDs where it was stopped. But this one doesn't memorize the current blu-ray/DVD where it was stopped. If you take it out and put it back, you have to start all over.

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad for the price, but aim higher

Pros: It's a BD player with Netflix for a decent price, but there are caveats.

Cons: You CANNOT play ANY video files on a USB stick with this unit. That is not supported on the North American version for some odd reason.

Requires a 1 GB+ USB stick to be inserted for BD Live.

The menus and manual read like they were translated from Korean word-by-word.

Other Thoughts: This player is good for a room that you don't watch a lot of movies in, but don't buy it for your home theatre.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Video

Pros: Quick loading, Beautiful video display, Simplink, Internet options

Cons: You can find faults with the "other" features of this player, but for it's main intended use, it excels.

Other Thoughts: Blu-Ray players have become like cell phones "Look at what my phone can do, I can make a call and fax my boss and check my email and take a picture and........".

I bought my cell phone to.....make calls to other people (I know, how absurd). I bought my blu-ray player to.....play blu-rays. Sure, it may fall a little short on the delivery of it's other features, but what it does flawlessly, is play blu-ray discs. It also brings new life to my DVDs.

I own both the LGBD370 and 390. The 390 loads just a tad quicker than the 370, but the video display is a tough call, both are top of the line quality.

If you're just looking for a player that delivers incredible video, the LGBD370 is the answer, it also plays CDs quite well.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not do the upgrades

Pros: Like the Netflix feature

Cons: I made the mistake of upgrading the software. Now it won't work and I have to send it in. Not only do I have to pay for this because it's past its 90 day warranty (but I only bought it 6 months ago) but it take a week to get the shipping label and it will be gone for 8-12 weeks for repair. Yes, I said 8-12 weeks. I wish I could return it but it looks like I'm stuck with a DVD player that I'm only going to get 6 months of use out of. That averages out to about $30/month. Not worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsGot it for Netflix mostly

Pros: Was watching my Netflix movies and TV shows within 10 minutes of un-boxing it. Have not had any problems with ghosting or jittery even on the HD stuff, works great for me. Never tried the blu-ray as I don't own any nor rent them so far. Plays standard stuff just fine.

Cons: None really so far.

Other Thoughts: Bought this LG from Netflix after a Samsung was returned to a BigBox retailer. It connected to the Internet after I setup the required network address, recognized that an update was available but after that update, it would never connect again. Called Tech Support, told me it was my network. Went over everything again, could ping the Samsung from my internal network but the player would not ping its gateway however it could check for an update and say it was at the latest. So call TechSupport back with the details.. it is my network they say. So took it back.

1 out of 5 eggsWent kaput

Pros: Moderate price, ~$200 in November 2009.

Cons: Just a few days after the 3-month warranty expired, it stopped playing regular dvds. (Common problem, apparently). GeekSquad found no problems, recommended firmware update; I tried, but neither USB nor disc would get read.

Other Thoughts: Yuck.

5 out of 5 eggsWell rounded function

Pros: I am currently using the blu-ray player through the component ports due to an older tv, but the picture is still great, then instant netflix is a big plus!

Cons: A little bigger then expected, the home menu is weird to navigate in at first.

Other Thoughts: Fast shipping again from newegg, ordered it friday came in on monday. WOOT

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Blu & super on DVDs

Pros: Nice low form factor. Good menu system. Streams netflix.

Cons: No wi-fi.

Other Thoughts: This displays (recoded home burned) commercial SD movie DVDs in an upconversion that looks amazing; very impressed. Blu Ray performance is terrific, all on a 58 inch Panny plasma. Havent used for streaming Netflix yet - until I dump my TIVO HD at the end of the year I use that for streaming.

1 out of 5 eggsMajor Problems

Pros: Great picture and quality when it was working. Streaming Netflix was a huge bonus and part of the reason we purchased it.

Cons: Roughly 6 months after purchasing it, it would no longer play regular DVD's. After doing some research it turned out this was a huge problem for many people, but LG refuses to admit the problem and charges you to have it repaired. Shortly after it stopped playing regular DVDs, it will no longer play Blu Ray movies either. Getting through to LG has been next to impossible, so we are cutting our losses and buying a new one.

Other Thoughts: Really disappointed in this player. When we originally purchased it the cost was roughly $250. To spend that much money on something only to have it break in less than a year is pretty sad. Had it been easier to at least reach LG and for them to offer a solution, I would have been much less jaded. However this has pretty much made sure I will never purchase an LG product again. For anyone considering purchasing this, go do a Google search on the "LG BD370 not playing DVD's" and you will see the MANY complaints about it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value and Great Interface

Pros: Easy setup - the only thing I had to tweak was the audio pass-through settings. Netflix account verification is quick and intuitive. Picture quality of Netflix streaming and Blu-ray discs is great, but I only have a 1080i TV so I can't judge the full-resolution performance. Discs load quickly. Everything in the remote control and menu system is easy to find and well designed.

Cons: Doesn't seem to acknowledge the existence of 16:9 and higher-res videos on YouTube, but maybe that will come with a software update. No mechanism for adding titles to your queue on Netflix, but it's not a big deal because I don't think a lot of people who own this player and want to use streaming will be without a computer in the house.

5 out of 5 eggsEject from front

Pros: I have had this player for a long while and love it. Netflix and youtube streaming, great picture quality for both Blu-ray and regular DVD.

To the reviewer that said there is no way to eject from the front panel: you just have to push the bottom left hand corner of the chrome square around the power button. Look closely, it's there.

Cons: The only con for me is that it isn't wireless. But I paid 300 for this as it was (they've come down a lot since I bought it), and wireless at the time was more than I could stomach price wise.

5 out of 5 eggsThe future of multimedia is here

Pros: Great picture and sound. Works well. The interface is straightforward and I haven't found anything I don't like about it. I REALLY like the online features and have ended up using Netflix over the player more than watching actual bluray movies. The quality is adjusted to your connection speed. When I bought the player we had 768kb down DSL and it took a lot more buffering time and used a lower quality feed. But now we have 20Mbit down fiber and it always uses the highest quality available. The quality of youtube videos is amazing. I think it actually looks better on this device than it does on a computer, which is strange. I thought that the video search might be difficult since there is no keypad, but fortunately the auto-complete works pretty well.

The standard def DVD upconversion also works well too. I've found myself going back to old DVDs I've had to watch them again.

Cons: Maybe I'm doing something wrong but it would be nice if when switching away from a bluray you are in the middle of to one of the other apps like netflix or youtube that you could switch back to the bluray without it losing your place.

There isn't a way to eject the disc from the front of the player.

Other Thoughts: This is my first blu-ray player. I bought this because I didn't want to mess with the DRM part of a blu-ray player on a HTPC, especially since my HTPC runs Linux. Its possible to do on Linux, but from what I've heard its a pain due to all the licensing. I bought an HTPC in order to do some more computery things like watch online videos, but have found that this player is more convenient for YT and NF at least. I wonder if later firmware upgrades may add more apps like Pandora or Hulu, which would be nice.

Now all I need is a receiver that handles HDMI.

5 out of 5 eggsworks just fine

Pros: Works just fine, even without USB flash drive (unlike comments made by other users). Updated firmware the first time it was connected to internet, took about 10 minutes to finish.

Cons: Nothing worth mentioning

Other Thoughts: Perfect if you have Netflix, and it even offers a few other services.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty good once I got it connected

Pros: Fast blue-ray load times, nice upscale of standard Dvds, streams Netflix and YOutube to your tv. Easy to understand menus. Great picture quality. Excellent choice for this price point. Great for watching photo slide shows.

Cons: So far no cons, was a little tough to get connected to the internet, but that was my router's fault not the player's.

Other Thoughts: Once I figured out how to network it, I watch Netflix more than I watch dish network. Great player so far.

4 out of 5 eggsVery nice BR player

Pros: Perfect for my parents, they were able to understand the interface and they have very low tech knowlege, the netflix functionality is more than half of it's value

The remote is fairly easy to figure out, it has a hidden panel of advanced functions that never needs to be opened

Netflix is an ease to use and works great.

Cons: No Pandora (Update maybe LG?)

Youtube interface is a bit difficult (Not surprising)

BluRay playback didn't Wow me, but they have a 720P TV and I'm used to 1080P

Other Thoughts: This device gets middling reviews on video quality, I can see that I might agree, however as a netflix/BR player for the parents, it can't be beat. Features are an A+ Quality as a BR player is a B, buy it if thats the order you prefer.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: My first Blu-Ray Player, and I am very impressed. Makes my old DVDs look better and the picture quality of the Blu-Rays are very impressive. The Netflix feature is a very nice feature as well. Plays DVD-Rs and BD-Rs as well.

Cons: You can't add movies/shows to your queue from the device, you need to do it from a computer.

3 out of 5 eggsDescent Player

Pros: For one I don't think i will be going back to a regular DVD player after going Blue Ray! Blue Ray movies look great on my 40" Vizio LCD and the Player loads quick I would say within 20-30 seconds if that. Also its pretty cool that the left side of the players door automatically opens up down when you open the player to insert a disc. Upconversion isn't bad, I tried Terminator 2 and it look good not like blue ray good but better than a regular DVD player. I haven't tried BD Live with
it yet or any other online features that you can use with blue ray movies. Netflix is just okay, and thats where the three eggs come in is for quality of Netflix streaming. First off you have to queue your movies from your computer, its not that big of a deal but it would be nice if it was like an xbox where you can choose from an assortment of different genres and titles.

Cons: I have my player hardwired with a hundred megabits of bandwidth so I should be getting optimal viewing out of the Netflix feature. For whatever reason I am only receiving half the bandwidth quality when the player loads movies to watch and it looks very pixel-ly! For instance the Queue screen looks great and bright but when I go to play a movie the picture quality drops and when there is a dark scene it look absolutely horrible and boxy. I don't know if that has to do with Netflix or the player itself but it is very annoying and its and issue that has to be addressed, because I watch Netflix a lot. All I know is that when I watch Netflix over my Xbox 360 quality is great and its like watching a DVD But on this player it is garbage! Also when i went to put the batteries in the remote for the first time the locking tab on the remote broke and was a pain in the neck to get open. So now I have electrical tape holding the back on so the sleeve wont fall off. Thats not cool LG!!!!!!!!!!

Other Thoughts: I will try and update this review if I figure out the Netflix issue. I gave this player 3 eggs because of viewing quality of Blue Rays which I haven't had a problem with and look absolutely amazing! The menu and other things are really good on the player and easy to navigate. I just don't know though, I paid the extra cause I wanted a Player to have the Netflix feature, so I have a few weeks left before my 30 days is up to return this thing which is what I might do if I can't resolve the Netflix issue. The player updates automatically when you hook up to the net, just thought I would throw that in there. If you noticed there is no fan, well, thats not to bad of an issue, just make sure you have the player in a well ventilated area because I did notice it got a little warm on top when I had it in a not so great spot before I put some shelves in to give it better venting. LG has a couple players like that so they must have designed it to vetilate well with no fan.

Pros: Netflix Watch it Now is fantastic. Excellent blu ray playback and load speed.

Cons: LG Firmware update disabled USB port and data DVD-R's from playing any movie files. You can only access photos/music using those methods. Big mistake LG!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Player for the Price

Pros: Integrated NetFlix, YouTube, and Cinema Now access. Blu-Ray movies are good quality and load in a reasonable amount of time.

Cons: The only thing I think this thing is missing is the ability to add movies to your que via the player. You have to do it from your computer. This is definately minor though.

Pros: worked right out of the box and easy to set up

Cons: was hoping for usb video streaming from usb stick but no go here..LG support says not on this player but several you tube videos show this being done..dont know if this feature is enabled in sets for other than US market but seems dumb to me to disable this feature for US players....

Other Thoughts: plugged into a *onoprice HDMI switcher (5) and the switcher pugged in to the tv..works great..hope I didnt kill the player I just read dont update the firmware if the player already works....yikes!! ( on reviews advice )

5 out of 5 eggsWOW. NOT WHAT I EXPECTED.

Pros: I really wanted to get the LG BD390 since it had built in wireless and 1gb on board ram. As Christmas approached, I realized the LG BD390 wouldn't be in stock so I saved 100 bucks and got this instead. I knew this was an ok player, but I think I was pleasantly surprised. The bluray disks load up in less than 45 seconds. I tried Batman begins and Batman:dark knight. Both looked awesome on my 50'' LG plasma. I didn't mind the included remote since I used a universal Verizon fios remote anyway. I have a Dlink DWL-G820 gaming adapter with my linksys T-mobile router and it works well. You DON'T have to be a network genius to do this. The netflix HD movies stream without a hiccup and looks as if I had inserted an actual blu-ray disk. I havent rented from cinemanow, but it seems to be working well too. My kids love it. Goodbye pay-per-view and premium cable channels. Now if only netflix would broadcast boxing matches I'm all set.

Cons: None. Amazed at value for the price. Hope they also add blockbuster and Pandora in the future. Make sure you connect to network and download firmware. If not, I guess you can download firmware to USB and upgrade that way.

Other Thoughts: Newegg Rocks as always. But I can see how people are concerned at how the bluray is delivered in its original box and not inside a brown box. If you feel you don't live in a safe enough neighborhood, then have UPS require delivery signature.

5 out of 5 eggsLG Blu-ray BD370

Pros: When I first got this, I hooked it up to the internet via a wired router before I turned it on. Once it was on I fell in love. I mainly use it for watching Netflix instant videos. I have Charter internet and have not had any issues with the resolution set to 1080i. (My apartment building was recently re-wired by Charter for HD service so that may be the difference. ) If your internet speed changes it will stop the video and optimize your video for your internet speed therefore preventing the choppy video that I have read about in other reviews. I love that you can check for software on the internet via a menu setting. If you are "old-fashioned" you can use a flash drive to upgrade. The set I received already has the current software and firmware.

Cons: Sometimes when watching Netflix video I get a mesaage about my internet being very slow and asking if I want to watch a video anyway. If I select to continue the video is just as smooth and beautiful as watching a movie with a disc in the player. I am doing good is a trivial message is my only complaint. I am completely satisfied with this purchase.

Other Thoughts: Isn't it great when you give yourself a Christmas present and it turns out to be everything you expected? I hope New Egg doesn't censor Christmas because I love the Christmas season.

Pros: This is my first Blu-ray Disc player. I am very happy with it. LG makes solid, reliable equipment, and this is no different. My main motivation for purchasing was Netflix Watch-It-Now streaming. Very very nice. YouTube functionality is somewhat fun. Blu-ray content looks and sounds excellent. The Dark Knight on Blu-ray is excellent.

Cons: It powers down after being idle for sometime. That confuses my Logitech Harmony remote.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Great Bluray playback, fast load time, NetFlix is flawless. I even use one with a PC wireless gaming receiver, an arrangement that cost less than buying the BD-390.

Cons: I paid $199, and it was only $129 on Cyber Monday.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Utube and Netflix are nice features. Warm light glow around the power button.

Cons: DOA. When I first turned it on it did not work. After power cycling and messing with the HDMI cable, all seemed well. About 10 minutes into a movie, max volume hiss and millions of red and blue dots covered the screen. Power cycled again to clear problem. Rinse and repeat with the same results. I did not try the composite video out, I purchased it to use with HDMI.

So much for the free shipping, since I now need to pay and ship it to CA from MD.

Other Thoughts: It would not read some DVD copies, but xbox 360 doesn't play them either. They play perfectly in a computer, was hoping this would read them too.

Newegg shipped this in the manufacturers box. I believe that it needs more padding. It is secured well with styrofoam, but leaves it open to shock. The laser in the old days was secured for shipping. With this packing the laser is exposed to shock and vibe. I'll assume that Newegg knows best about shipping and the box is made for it, my personal belief is that the box is made for pallets and not individual shipping.

I'm going to try a replacement.

4 out of 5 eggsNo DLNA/video file playback for 370

Pros: Very good picture quality & speed, plus NetFlix/youtube etc internet streaming, for the price

Cons: Missing PC video file streaming/playback features vs the BD390- newegg description is inaccurate

Other Thoughts: NewEgg needs to correct the description text:
I don't think the BD370 plays back DLNA videos over network or USB; only photos/music on USB.

Video file playback (USB & DLNA/CIFS streaming) is only on the BD390 higher end model, which does work very well for these (with small usual caveats/quirks.)

Pros: Easy setup and excellent picture quality on my Samsung LCD. BlueRay is amazing. Netflix was a "no brainer" my only hand up was the ruunig of 50 ft lan cable from my computer to the player which is not LG's problem.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: The price is right and this is the best deal I could find and it's Newegg!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget Blu-Ray Player

Pros: Feature Full. Profile 2.0 (BD Live), Netflix, YouTube, etc. Netflix and YouTube work fantastic. The Menu system is easy to use. The puppy is fast on bootup and play. Performance is great.

Cons: Newegg kept selling out so I had to get elsewhere.

Network setup is horrible. They recommend you connect it directly to your router. Unfortunately, they don't say that its because they use port 32768 to actually test your network connection. If you do not allow this port through to your device you will have constant "congestion" issues when running through a router. Once I opened this port everything worked fine. Others that claim spotty Netflix performance may be having this issue.

Other Thoughts: Some have claimed the drive bay will not close when a USB drive is plugged in. Not sure if they changed the design, but I do not have this issue. The right front panel does have to stay open when you have a drive installed, but it does not affect the drive bay.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks greater after getting the network configured

Pros: $100 cheaper than the competition; Great video quality; netflix access; youtube streaming;

Cons: The network stack on the device is a bit persnickety. The system would not connect reliably to the internet through my home network (BD370->switch->switch->router->cable modem->internet) until i set the QoS (Quality of Service) on the router for the BD370. The BD370 reaches out to multiple external servers to authorize streaming and to grab the artwork for the movies. If those fail then the connections fail.

Other Thoughts: I work in the field of computer and network security. Configuring finding the problem and configuring the router is primarily an annoyance. LG should provide step-by step instructions to configure routers for those less technically minded.

4 out of 5 eggsBD 370 is working smoothly, now

Pros: Great price, all the features I wanted. First firmware upgrade went smoothly despite the fear instilled by other reviews. The video playback (DVD, BLURAY) is very nice and the controls are reasonable. However, I do second (third?) the comment about having to aim the remote: aim at the box to get it right. :)

Cons: The packet handling on this device is a bit persnickety. The BD370 goes through three switches in my house to get to the router:
Netgear FS605 switch ->
Netgear FS605 switch ->
DLink DSS 8+ switch ->
DLink DIR 655 router
In order to get reliable connectivity to the internet I had to (1) assign a static ip address to the BD370 and then (2) configure the router for QoS and give priority to the device.

After I did that things seemed hunky dory. :)

Other Thoughts: My guess is that the persnickety network stack on this system needs work (hence the next gen model that costs an extra $100?). I work in computer/network security so tracking down the problem is primarily an annoyance, but most folks are just gonna return the system to the store.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Player

Pros: Excellent picture quality. Good upconversion.

Cons: No sleep mode - meaning timed shut down. The Toshiba HD-DVD player I bought this LG Blu-ray player to replace use to shut off fifteen minutes after movie ended. A matter a fact, all the Toshiba DVD players power off after fifteen minutes after they've gone into screen saver mode, that's if you set that option to on in the players setup.

Other Thoughts: Overall it seems to be a very well made solid player. I hope to get many years of service from this unit.

4 out of 5 eggsDo I own the same product as some of these other reviewers?

Pros: Easy to setup, great video quality, very simple menu interface, remote's layout is about as standard and simple as they come (power on/off at the top, navigation circle of keys in the middle and "VCR" style keys underneath them, below that plenty empty space to grip the remote).
Network setup was very much a breeze. Initially I connected the box to my cable modem. I turned the LG on, clicked on setup->network, made sure the I had dynamic IP (default) set, and then tested going into Netflix... It worked first time. I've never lost a connection during viewing. The video and audio quality is very, very good.

Cons: The second installation was a physical connection off a wireless router, which was wirelessly connected to my cable modem. The only problem was it took a few times going back and forth between setup and Netflix to get the connection established. Note: I had to do NOTHING with the router or cable modem setup. I never once had to do anything with firewalls, direct forwarding or any other type of setup (hardware, firmware, software) that would involve a network administrator--somebody must have been smoking something bad to think they needed an expert. Bottom line, I do find fault in the LG's inability to stay connected to the network between power cycles. Perhaps it's something that I am ignorant about.

Other Thoughts: I didn't buy this from Newegg because I got it at a promotional price that vendors normally couldn't match without taking a loss. Otherwise, I am a Newegg loyalist to the core. There's my confession...

1 out of 5 eggsA great egg

Pros: Unit looks nice. Good video and sound output.

Cons: Remote is not ergonomic and hard to use in the dark.

Other Thoughts: The unit was advertised with 5 free BluRay which I did not receive. Howerver, Newegg agreed to compensate for 20 bucks for the next purchase. The unit is now sold for 3 times less than that compensation. Very nice service, but I plan to stop buying for good.

Pros: Works very well. I have had no problems with it whatsoever. My main use is for Netflix with occasional blue ray disks. It also plays back my old DVD's upconverted to 1080p with a beautiful picture.

Cons: Does not do Hulu.

Other Thoughts: Great value.

3 out of 5 eggsBe careful with this one

Pros: You can get Netflix. That's the main reason I got this one. I managed to get the thing set up and connected and could see my Instant Queue. I actually own NO Blue-ray Discs. I'm happy with plain DVD. And this thing plays them. Good enough.

Cons: The Networking Capability now being encluded with Consumer Electronics can be dicey. If you happen to have the basic setup that they designed for, then you're okay. But if you have an extended, complex Home Network, they will not be able to help you. YOU must be willing to troubleshoot the connection like a true Network Administrator. Routers and Firewalls are NOT made alike. A Netgear box may behave differently than a D-Link box or a LinkSYS. And then there are default level Firewall Settings to consider. Open up your Router or Firewall Settings and take notes BEFORE you start plugging in this device.

Other Thoughts: I say READ the Bad Reviews on this one even if you decide to buy this. The CON's listed are valid points that may make or break your reason for this purchase. I read them and decided to take the risk because I reasoned that I knew my network setup well enough to tackle it.
And on this point they are all correct: DO NOT DO THE SOFTWARE UPGRADE IF YOUR PLAYER WORKS.
This upgrade is more properly defined as a FIRMWARE UPDATE such as what you do for a Motherboard. And the rule for FIRMWARE is Hard and Simple: If It WORKS-- DON'T UPGRADE. FIRMWARE updates are NOT REVERSIBLE.

4 out of 5 eggsLG Network Blu-ray Disc Player BD370 - Retail

Pros: Small, slim, clean and modern design. Very clear picture connected via component cable to my older 65" mitsubishi rear projection hd tv ( no HDMI input). Netflix works great. Everything works out of the box even after updating software.

Cons: The remote control signal kinda weak, you have to aim it directly at the BD player to work. The eject button on the player is right next/below the power button very easy to press the power button when ejecting. The eject button is also hard to get at when the disc tray is open, of course it's not a problem if you use the remote.

Other Thoughts: Overall it's a very good BD player although it's my first one. It does take a little bit longer to load the BD disc compared to a regular DVD player. For the price with Netflix, Cinema Now and You Tube, can't be beat. Free shipping too!

5 out of 5 eggsDump Your Cable Company

Pros: Works great, simple to set up. Connected the BD370 to my Ethernet hub and wham... online with Netflix, no problem. Registering the player us simple. Great picture in HD from Blu-Ray discs and nice up converting on non-BD's. Great price, too.

Cons: None now. Doesn't have as many inputs/outputs in the back as my Sony BD player, but I really didn't need them all.

Other Thoughts: Finally had it with my cable company and had it all disconnected, one of the better days of my life - what a relief - no more putting up with them! I get my news, etc. via a PC (connected to the TV) and, believe it not, my Wii. The player works great with Netflix on the Instant Watch movies, much slicker and better reliability than my old cable company. Much less expensive, too. Have not tried Cinema Now, but have browsed the site via the player.

2 out of 5 eggsUnreliable so far; rotten customer service

Pros: Good Blu-Ray playback & excellent Netflix internet VOD user interface and playback.

Cons: Extremely flaky HDMI output. Always works with Blu-Ray playback, but not reliable when using the unit's main menu. It must be yet another Blu-Ray unit software bug.

Other Thoughts: LG support is difficult to reach. It takes numerous menu selections to reach agents. The one I reached would not listen, even to the most carefully worded sentences. He was surly and combative at best. When I asked for a supervisor, he refused. I've filed a warranty claim with the LG web site, but don't expect much with such rotten service agents.

5 out of 5 eggsLG BD370

Pros: The BD370 has excellent picture and sound quality. The ability to watch Netflix and Youtube is very nice. I have the slowest dsl connection that I can buy and still get very good picture quality.

Cons: Unfortunately if your HDTV does not have a HDMI connection with HDCP you can't watch protected content in High Definition. The best you can hope for is 480P. However, I did connect the unit to my HDTV that has HDMI and the picture is great.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I would recommend this player to anyone. I love the quality and I am very satisfied.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat picture LG BD370

Pros: This unit loads fast and has no problems with playing blu-rays and regular dvds look awesome! It loads fast, and works great The netflix feature would be a great plus if they can work the bugs out. Same with you tube. As a player it works great.

Cons: DO NOY BUY THIS FOR THE NETFLIX FEATURE. It worked once right out of the box, but has many connection problems. I have spent days with netflix, LG and so on trying to work out the problem and they just pass the buck to each other. There needs to be some sort of cooperation or communication between the two companies to support this unit. After over a week of frustration I stilll have no answer and It won't connect to netflix again. They will tell you that you have to at least have a 3.5MB/second internet speed, I have over 10MB/S I have used both dynamic and static IP's to connect and still no luck. They have no answers either. Netflix says it isn't on their side and LG said it is working fine. It was the main reason I chose this unit... It is easier to hook a laptop to netflix and play it through your tv that way. Less hassle.

Other Thoughts: If yours works out of the box. DO NOT accept any upgrades from LG or netflix that may pop up. From what I am reading online that seems to have something to do with the problems even though the update was successful. There is NO way to roll it back. So go with the old addage if it' ain't broke, don't fix it! You will save yourself a lot of money ( to send it back) and frustration.
You have to know a lot about networking and usage of settings such as gateways and IP addresses to get it to work. I am a computer tech and it was a stretch even to me.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing for the price

Pros: This is an amazing player for $250 (300 when i got it)
Netflix looks great on mine with the player set to 1080p, going through a ASUS|WL-330GE for wireless.

loads plays and performs 1000x better than all the other blurays i've tried and was less money

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: I do agree with the other post that the usb port would be better in back or anyplace behind the door

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but left me scratching my head a little.

Pros: Great blu-ray picture quality. Starts quickly. Has the ability to upgrade firmware over the internet. Coax & Optical digital outputs. Plays music and picture files from USB. Blu-ray live. NetFlix & You Tube support. 1080p 60/24. Wide codec support for video.

Cons: No on board ram. No USB port on the back, just poorly placed one on front behind hinged panel. NetFlix is choppy when output is set to 1080p. Won't play video files from flash drives.

Other Thoughts: If you plan on using blu-ray live, you need to supply your own 1gig usb flash drive. Not a big deal, but the only place to plug it in is the one and only usb port located on the front of the machine behind a hinged door. When anything is plugged into the port, you can't close the door. That goes under the "what were you thinking?" category. Netflix playback is great, except it isn't smooth when output is set to 1080p. If you change to 1080i or less, it renders great. Pain in the behind to change output from one setting to another to just to watch netflix. Also, not being able to play video from the USB port is a let down. I don't think there is anything that couldn't be corrected with firmware updates. (aside from the USB port behind the door, hello?) Fix these, and I would give it a five. Add the ability to play networked storage media files, and I would give it a 6 (if it existed).
