4 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Price was good and has been durable so far. Looks pleasing to the eye too.

Cons: The connection sucks. Red and white RCA inputs means you have to get a splitter. Also has a background hum even when the TV is on but not talking.

Other Thoughts: The sound of this sub is deafening. The deep is very deep and I never turn the volume beyond the half way mark. It almost mimics a movie theater experience.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid sub, terrible rebate process

Pros: Great small sub for a townhouse. I generally only have it turned up 1/2 way as that gives solid boom and any higher may be a nuisance to neighbors. Similar to other reviewers I do have some concern about the side located port, perhaps I need to face it toward a wall. For the price it couldn't be beat, assuming the rebate is ever received.

Cons: I thought mail-in rebates were dead but not so for this sub and WOW should they be. I'm not sure my mailed form ever actually made it so I called customer service and they pushed my request in line where it has been "In Process" for about a month. Terrible!

4 out of 5 eggssounds good, bad rebate processing

Pros: The sound is great. It has inputs for regular speakers, which I needed because I'm using an old receiver that does not have a sub out.

Cons: -The rebate is in processing and has been for 2 months. It's beyond ridiculous and the others submitted that day were in my hand months ago.
-Toddlers can easily put things into the front-facing port. A grill or at least a cross-bar would have been nice.
-The auto-on occasionally "ons" when it shouldn't.

Other Thoughts: I'd get it again. For the price, it is a fantastic supplement to any system. It does not shake you like a 12" fancy-name sub, but it does 80% of the job for 1/8 of the price! We have stressed this unit and have had no issues with it.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Sub

Pros: I have a 20'x30' living room and i added this to my 5.1 surround sound and it was the perfect addition. The bass is great for both listening to music and watching movies. The bass is plenty loud enough. I would call the bass more tight than boomy.

Cons: This isn't really a con, but the sub needs to be placed in the correct spot in your room or the bass will be much quieter. Just experiment with the positioning.

Other Thoughts: I got this sub for essentially $50 although the $50 gift card from newegg has not shown up yet.

1 out of 5 eggsLasted 18 months

Pros: Auto-on off works well as does the amp.

Cons: Speaker itself is cheap. Lasted 18 months

Other Thoughts: Only a 1 year warranty. Speaker cone itself started rattling after 18 months. It would stop if I put my hand on the rubber part of the speaker. Basically the speaker is shot. Was $79 when i bought it. Glad i didnt pay a penny more.

1 out of 5 eggsNot good quality

Pros: Sounded good when it worked.

Cons: Lasted a year and a half before the speaker blew. Better off going with a Polk or some other quality brand. Pioneer isn't known for quality. Upset that I have to buy another subwoofer after a year and a half. Warranty is only a year.

5 out of 5 eggsBoom Boom Boom

Pros: I bought this to soup up the low end in my garage. I caught it on sale for fifty. Actually one hundred with a 50 dollar visa gift card. For the price I do not think you can beat this sub.

Well constructed and musical. Yes, musical. I am not one of these teeny boppers having a contest to see who can rattle the bumper off of their car first. However this sub can do that if you wish. That said, I was surprised at how easily this sub integrated into my prime system. While not as musical as a more expensive sub it is 85% as good. Again, for the price I do not think you can beat this one.

Cons: Not a con against this sub just a warning. Adding any sub to your system means that for every album or movie you will need to adjust it for prime listening. It is the price you pay for high fidelity.

Other Thoughts: For the price this was a great buy. Construction is excellent.

1 out of 5 eggsBought 2, both defective.

Pros: Sounded good when it briefly worked.

Cons: Quality is very poor. The 3 way power toggle switch was flimsy (would not stay in any one position) out of the box and would cause power to cut in and out. Not only was this annoying, I was worried about fire hazard. I returned for exchange but newegg refunded my money because the product was on back order. I purchased another from A mazon and it was dead on arrival. No sound would play whatsoever. Perhaps the reason this product is on sale everywhere is because it is such poor quality. Personally, Pioneer will never get my business again. EVER!

3 out of 5 eggsDecent Sub for the price

Pros: A decent value for the price, but...

Cons: At full volume was still somewhat soft.

Other Thoughts: Worked okay, but replaced with a Polk 10" after a child decided to put toys in the hole in the front. The sub didn't work after rescuing the toys from the inside. The Polk is a much better device, if you can spare the extra cash to make up the difference.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Woofer!

Pros: It goes well with my Pioneer VSX-1022 receiver. I like the auto on/off feature. For 99 dollars it was quite a bargain. I also got a 3 year extended warranty for 12 dollars. I'm good until 2017! It really completes my 7.1 setup.
It's has a nice full sound. I'm happy that it doesn't sound like one of those thump wagons going down the street! I wonder what that song is that they all play? It goes, thump, thump-thump, thump, thump. Must be a big hit! ;-)

Cons: I was surprised that I needed to turn it up to about 3/4. My old JBL that bit the dust could only be turned up about 1/8 before knocking you out of your chair.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend at 99 bucks!
