5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Entry Level Center Channel Speaker

Pros: I have the matching 7.1 set of this series and they are all an excellent entry level speakers. Clean sound, classic look, and easy set up. They are all banana plug compatible. I would recommend the whole set to anyone looking to add some nice speaker to their home theater.

This comes with two rubber strips that are shaped for this to sit on so it doesn't roll or slide on your TV stand or shelf. They also help point the speaker up or down a little depending on how you have it situated in your set up.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsimpressive addition

Pros: This speaker produces an impressive amount of sound that's vital to any 5.1 system. The coloration is just a bit bright at the upper ranges but male and female voices are produced beautifully. Though it's not something I would normally praise a speaker for this one also produces a lot of sound volume with no distortion. The center speaker has a much larger burden for movies than the casual listener might suspect and this speaker handles the job effortlessly.

Cons: I don't think there are any cons to this speaker except for the slight concern if you have a very limited space in which to place it. The dimensions are easily seen so check and make sure you have the room for it.

Other Thoughts: I bought the AJ pioneer system in it's first interation. All of my speakers are first generation and not the "2" system speakers. Despite the raves on the new system which I haven't heard I can truly say that this version of the speakers is amazing. They're powerful, they're responsive, the tone is never harsh or boomy and I can't imagine getting more bang for the buck than this. If you want a high end surround package for audiophile grade listening you'll have to pas this one by but you'll also have to spend thousands more to make an appreciable improvement.

I've sent my children to college with these speakers and they probably use them in ways that would make me shudder but they're the ones that all the friends want to party with for sound. For myself I use these speakers in the den and added another sub. They tackle movies and music equally well and when I'm in the mood to rock out, that's exactly what they do.

Some of the best money you'll ever spend on speakers.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Price & Works Great

Pros: Solid wood body, which makes it heavy, with a crisp clear center channel sound that allows you to hear clear voices and other sounds that a center channel was made for.The connectors are banana plug compatible which is nice to use when connecting it to your reciever.

Cons: It comes with a rounded body and has no legs/feet to stop it from rocking. It doe's come with, rubber place holders, to lay it on, to keep it in place. It should at least come with some sort of a craddle or an attached front support to hold it from rocking.

Other Thoughts: Overall a great center speaker for the average person at a very reasonable price

5 out of 5 eggsSimply Fabulous

Pros: I'm in my mid 70s and for some time now when watching a movie on my 55 inch LED TV through my HTPC (all components bought from Newegg, by the way) I've had trouble hearing the actors' voices. The music and sound effects overpowered the dialogue to my ears. After carefully tuning this center speaker, all is fine. What a difference this Pioneer SP-C21 center speaker makes for my listening enjoyment, because I can now clearly hear the dialogue!.

Cons: None; absolutely none!

Other Thoughts: I spent quite some time getting my speakers "right." The problem lay in my lack of understanding all the attributes of my Sherwood RD-6108 audio/video receiver. I'm running a Synergy 2.1 speaker system with this center speaker. I suggest that many of the problems I read about regarding the Pioneer SP-C21 speaker is due to not configuring your audio/ video receiver correctly. Don't blame a speaker when the onus is upon you to configure your system correctly!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I bought the sp-fs51 speakers to replace my dinky satellite speakers from a store-brand full 5.1 stereo system. I was not expecting those speakers to completely drown out the center speaker. So, I immediately bought this speaker to replace the store-brand's. I had to do it so I can get the dialog channel when watching TV. I really like the Andrew Jones set. I also bought both bookshelf speakers, and I'm happy with the system. They look nice and more bang for your buck.

Cons: Bigger then what I had in mind. I even used a tape measure to get an idea of how big it was, and to make sure it fits.

5 out of 5 eggsused as stereo

Pros: very good sound

Cons: somewhat large

Other Thoughts: I purchased these to A/B against a pair of Polk Monitor 40's in a stereo setup (both on sale at approximately $100). Setting both pair to the same white noise SPL, I used a variety of sources for comparison. Short story----the Polks were 'warmer', the Pioneers more 'crisp. They became more similar as I progressed through source material...320kps, full digital, then vinyl. The choice will be personal but I really enjoy the sound, imaging., of these as a stereo setup. (note: no Monster Cables were harmed in this test).

3 out of 5 eggsLove/Hate

Pros: Matches the rest of my Pioneer surround sound

Cons: It may be the reciever, but all the other speakers sound great. This speaker just has an odd tone, that almost sounds "too" natural if that makes sense, which isnt bad, BUT it sounds different from the rest of the matching Pioneer speakers.

Huge. This thing is giant. You cant use this with a typical glass TV stand that most people have for their flat panel TVs. I managed to buy a bigger stand and was able to shove this thing on the bottom shelf, not the most ideal spot, but it works.

Other Thoughts: I bought the matching set of fronts, center, and rear because of the deal they were running when I bought the Pioneer receiver. It is a HUGE speaker. I am looking into a smaller profile speaker to replace it, but want it to somewhat match.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat center speaker

Pros: Excellent, clear voice from TV
Very good price
Rapid shipping

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: Much clearer TV voice than from legacy hi-fi speakers.
My hearing is declining at 70, but this speaker delays the inevitable.
Appears to be discontinued by Pioneer, so order today.
Large for some furniture so measure.
Pioneer replacement (SP-C22) smaller and not quite as good sound from specs.

5 out of 5 eggsSounds fantastic

Pros: Sounds fantastic
Provides a very decent amount of bass

Cons: Big
Placement can be difficult as this speaker has an open-back design. This means you can't back it up too close to a wall (keep it about a foot away).

Other Thoughts: Since this is a full range speaker, it should generally not be paired with "small" speakers as this speaker can overpower the others a bit.
