2 out of 5 eggsGood could be better

Pros: It interfaces into the receiver, looks better than the apple docks, free with my receiver.

Cons: It took a little while to figure out how to get the OSD to work with this unit. It doesn't have a page up and page down feature on the remote so if you have lots of song/artists it becomes useless.

Other Thoughts: Has potential but they need to make these units much easier to use. I find it much easier to select the songs on the ipod itself and not even deal with the OSD.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks as it should

Pros: Charges iPhone/iPod, can play video on my TV, works with existing receiver remote

Cons: My iPhone will not go on it unless I take the case off, I have to scroll 1 by 1 through Songs/Artists...there isn't a page up/down (might be on other receivers, I don't know...I'm using the SR-608)

Other Thoughts: I got it free with my receiver, so it was worth the price for me. Not sure it would be worth $100

3 out of 5 eggsReally necessary?

Pros: Allows you to plug in your iphone and charge while listening. Has limited ability to change between playlists and songs. Integrates well with the Onkyo receiver it came with. Looks nice.

Cons: VERY limited ability to interact with your iphone/ipod through the remote of your receiver. ONLY works with iphone/ipod (no other mp3 players need apply)

Other Thoughts: For $120 - that's a joke. Came for free with my receiver - would not have paid more than about $20 for it, but the charging ability is nice.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good Dock

Pros: Integrates with my Onkyo receiver, got it for free!

Cons: Draws a lot of power, doesn't output video to lower-end receivers (really a factor of the receiver, not this dock)

Other Thoughts: You can't beat free, but I would not have spent $100 on it. I love being able to control my iPod with the remote, but I would really like it more if I could see what was playing on the TV. You can with this dock, but you have to have a better receiver (I have the TX-SR607).

Also, I have a power-sensing surge protector that turns all of my other components on and off if it senses that the receiver (master) is on or off. If I have the iPod on the dock and I turn off the receiver, it draws enough power that the surge protector won't turn everything else off. That tells me that it draws significantly more power just having an iPod in the dock.

1 out of 5 eggsOK but I'd go with something else

Pros: Play's music off your iPhone

Cons: No on-screen display, no separate remote

Other Thoughts: On screen display would make this a must have item. I have the DS-A2. Now the A2's on screen display has been criticized as looking like something from the 80s. That's true, it's not pretty but at least it's easy to navigate your playlists, etc. This product has no on-screen display or separate remote. You use the remote from your receiver. It doesn't always work write. I would recommend buying this item only if you want to listen to iTunes from your iPhone. Otherwise go with the A2, if you can find one or the A-3

1 out of 5 eggsDon't usw

Pros: can't tell ya

Cons: Same here

Other Thoughts: The only reason I have this is because I purchased a TX-SR607 reciever which rocks. I'm not an apple fan so this will collect dust, well at least the box that it is in will

2 out of 5 eggswell... it was free

Pros: Was free with my receiver, charges phone

Cons: gives error on my iPhone 3Gs when connected - works for audio, but can't get any TV out even though phone shows its enabled

Other Thoughts: "Dock" shows up on my receiver now- even when I'm set on other inputs which is annoying
