Pros: I bought a Samsung System from HH Greg before I saw this item. I returned Samsung and bough this system. The package was delivered on time, no missing items, everything as described on the web site. It is easy to instal and configure. It gives my family the actual feeling of watching a movie in the theater! We have watched so many movies in the last couple of weeks! It is a great system

Pros: Finished the basement and just installed the system. Watched the first movie last night. It was an awesome experience! The entire hose is shaking with low noise setting! Even a pin drop could be heard. This is from an HD movie we were watching it on the internet. I have just ordered my Blue Ray player. I am excited to think how wonderful it would be watching movie on the blue ray player! Love the system. It was easy to install. Easy to hook up components. 2 HDMI IN ports make it very useful.
Shipment was perfect! No parts missing, on time. No complaints at all.

Other Thoughts: Newegg delivered this incredibly fast--this huge and heavy box came a day before some little stuff I ordered on the same day from "the major online retailer." Box was in perfect shape, no damage. I was pleasantly surprised at the finish on the speaker boxes. It's like a black veneer with a slight sheen, very elite looking. The subwoofer is HUGE. It ate my old 8" subwoofer and spit out the wires. Setup was easy but I'm glad I have banana plugs coming because wiring was a pain using the little screw knobs. No distortion in sound even when I took it to 95db which nearly blew my ears. Incredible sound. Tested some 7.1 content and was stunned by the crispness and tight bass, even though this was a test with the speakers in a small surround config on the floor with me sitting in the middle. Bass thumbs your chest. My dog walked through the room during a Propeller Heads song test and EXPLODED.

Cons: bulky and 1 speaker showed up with half the terminal missing. Everything is professionally made and looking just a manufactuer defect.

Pros: Totally satisfied. This system rocks and Newegg is awesome. Have had zero problems and is fairly easy to use. Has great sound and bass. Wifi works flawlessly

Other Thoughts: I'm in love. This is an amazing HTIB. I only use that term because it all came in a single box; the receiver is a standalone Onkyo. It's incredibly powerful, especially the subwoofer. We tested it out with Star Trek (2009) and it literally shook the entire room.

It's got just about any connectivity you could want, including 4 HDMI ports. The on-screen overlay is well done. One of my favorite parts, though, is the built-in networking and apps for Pandora, Slacker Radio, even a DLNA client! It connects very well over our home network to the WD MyBook Live and streams music very well.

One of the complaints I read in a lot of the reviews I looked at before buying this was that the speaker wire included was 20 or 22 gauge. While I did purchase some 16 ga. speaker wire, I haven't used it yet and this thing still sounds unbelievably good.

The Audyssey self-calibrating setup included also really helped to dial the system in for our living room. I really can't say enough good things about this system. It's a truly enormous box; I had to have help bringing it into the house after UPS delivered it (with barely any damage, and that only superficial. It looks like I was lucky) and it weighs over 130 lbs.

All in all, I am VERY happy with this purchase (especially with Newegg's pricing!) and would recommend this to anyone else in a heartbeat.

Pros: The system sounds awesome for what it is. Plenty of features and bells and whistles for even the most techy person. Very easy to setup and get going. On Screen Display works great over the HDMI. Sounds amazing, great highs and super deep lows especially in the THX modes.

Cons: Wires suck toss em. Remote is not very good or intuitive. Speakers are kind of big, was expecting them to be a bit smaller I guess. Front speakers are kind of short was expecting those to be a bit taller.

Other Thoughts: Very great system for the money.

Pros: The "package" (huge, 135 lb. box) arrived in great shape. Setting the system was easy, save for placing the speakers in my odd-shaped living area. The color-coded wires made getting the speaker hookup a cinch. The price was about $370 below MSRP (and is $50 lower just a couple of weeks after I purchased mine. Drat!). The functionality and sound beats my old Panasonic system hands down and for about the same cost (the wireless subwoofer quit working and the "wireless" rear speakers never did put out enough volume to hear them well). Some descriptions state that this system comes with a 10" subwoofer but this one came with a 12" which can cause the whole house to rumble with some movie sequences. I replaced the puny speaker wires with 14 AWG speaker wires which made a noticeable difference in both output and clarity. Streaming music from the included programs/sites was a piece of cake and sounded great. Haven't tried to stream video yet and doubt it would be that good as my wifi internet service isn't particularly fast. Software updates on the excellent receiver was also easy. Most reviews I've seen for this system have been very positive and I have to agree that it's definitely worth the money.

Cons: 1. The front display panel on the receiver does not work. Cost me $30 to ship it to a regional Onkyo service center for repair. Can't say yet whether it'll be fixed or how long it will take to get back. Newegg will only exchange the whole system, which would be a real chore to re-package and get shipped.
2. Speaker wires are way too small, as they are in most home theater kits.
3. System can take quite a bit of time to warm up and function. There's been many times when I want to turn on the TV and have to wait what seems like several minutes (probably not really that long but seems like it) before I can even use the remote or have sound come from the system.
4. $50 price drop shortly after I bought it would've covered my $52+ sales tax.

Other Thoughts: The speakers, though good, could be better. Most of the weight is in the relatively cheap enclosures and mounting them required replacing the chintzy keyhole mount with a beefier setup. The receiver is definitel a step up from almost any other HTiB on the market. Overall, this system is a good investment.

Pros: Excellent quality of sound. Terrific loud, subwoofer is incredibly powerful and steady, build quality is excellent, speaker improvement capabilities, great warrant, great remote, excellent system overall.

Cons: Tiny wires included. Most replace.

Other Thoughts: I spent a week ago 2091 USD in a system at best buy, I bought a marantz receiver with 4 promonitor 1000 speakers from definitive tech, 1 central speaker and the definitive prosub 1000.

I got home and installed the system, I did never like the subwoofer sound, and the system itself was very average.. not what I expected from 2k $. To make things worse, I raised the volume at a rihanna song (we found love) and 2 of the promonitor 1000's speakers BLEW. I SWEAR THAT HAPPENED!

That was enought for me, returned the system the other morning and ordered this one in the afternoon. I can say that I'm saving over 1300$ in this system and the sound is waaay better, same rihanna song handled perfect, subwoofer power is 3 times more than the definitive. You can't go wrong with this one
