TX-NR626 7.2 Channel Network A/V Receiver
Go Completely Wireless!
Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth audio technology streams hi-res, lossless, and compressed formats from smartphones, tablets, PCs, and NAS devices. 4K pass-through and upscaling, high-res video from smartphones and tablets, six HDMI inputs for gaming and other sources are just a few things that make the TX-NR626 a knockout punch of value and performance.

Built-In Wireless and Bluetooth

Stream Audio from Virtually Anywhere and Anything
The TX-NR626 connects to the wireless home network without LAN cables or adapters. Send a huge range of hi-res, lossless, and compressed files to your home theater from a smartphone, PC, tablet, NAS, and online sources using our remote app to control playback. Or, pair up and stream high quality wireless audio using built-in Bluetooth technology.

HDMI for High Resolution Playback

Six HDMI Inputs Let You Watch Pretty Much Anything
Qdeo™ technology from Marvell upscales standard video to silky-smooth 1080p (for regular HDTVs) and to an incredible 4k on compatible displays. Also, this receiver will passthrough 4K resolution from source devices (like a Blu-ray player) to an appropriate display. The TX-NR626's six HDMI inputs take surround sound formats from Dolby® TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio™, and supports 3D video. The two outputs have Audio Return Channel, so you can boost your TV's sound through your receiver.

Music from Everywhere

Sounds Even Better THrough an Onkyo
The TX-NR626 has the most Internet radio and music streaming services of any receiver in its class. Period!

Quick and Easy Remote App

Makes Control Easy and Convenient
The Onkyo remote app for iPod touch®/iPhone® and Android devices is a convenient way to control your home entertainment from anywhere within wireless range. The app has a clear graphical interface to control playback, adjust settings and handle content across multiple zones. Find the Onkyo Remote App for your Kindle here.

The Foundation of Onkyo Sound

WRAT: Wide Range Amplifier Technology
From the quietest passages to booming explosions, Onkyo's exclusive technology enhances the audio of your movies, music and games like never before.

Deep, Defined Bass

Powerful Bass and Clear Vocals
Onkyo's Phase-Matching Bass optimizes low frequencies while preserving mid-range clarity. This means that powerful bass plays back with clear vocals; it doesn't overpower them.

MHL™ and Easy Video Switching

Your Phone's Photos and Videos on HDTV
MHL displays your mobile's 1080p video and other media on your HDTV with 7.1 channels of surround sound. InstaPrevue™ technology names your HDMI devices and displays live video thumbnails of available content. Switch sources easily, with just a glance. No need to remember what's connected to which port.

Audyssey Technology for Awesome Sound

Auto-Adjustments for Optimal Sound
Audyssey MultEQ® room-correction technology delivers clear, well-balanced, natural sound. Audyssey Dynamic EQ® maintains consistent bass, tonal and surround sound effects at different volume levels. Audyssey Dynamic Volume® automatically compensates for volume fluctuations, for example during loud commercial breaks.

Powered Zone 2

And Zone 2 Line-Out
For distributed audio playback in another room, like the kitchen or deck.

Overlaid Menus

For Quick Adjustments on the Fly
The Quick Set-Up button on your remote puts menus over the program you're watching to switch inputs or change settings without interrupting your viewing. Similarly, the Home Menu button calls up simple icons for choosing a media source and menus for system settings.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Bang for Buck at $300 - get a USB fan...

Pros: Onboard streaming audio clients(Pandora, Spotify, etc)
Excellent Android/iPhone clients for remote control
Web GUI for configuration and favorite web channel addition.
2nd speaker output zone with independent source and volume control
Supports command line commands from a unix host for volume and power and other things.
Max volume setting... nice if you have kids.
Auto speaker level tuning with the Audessy mic.

Cons: Gets warm when operational. This is normal per Onkyo however I connected a USB fan to the front USB port and stuck the fan behind the receiver to pull air out the back of my TV stand. This is only powered when the unit is on. No more heating up. I ordered an AC Infinity unit from Am.zon. This is my only con with this unit for my use.

4 out of 5 eggsOnkyo TX-NR626

Pros: 1. Price - Black Friday sale at $275.00 made this a compelling purchase
2. Easy Audyssey setup - hook up the included microphone and position it in 3 listening spots and you're done. Of course, you can tweak it manually too.
3. Network connectivity (wired and wireless) very easy to work with
4. 6 HDMI inputs give me a lot of room for expansion.
5. Front panel is well laid out and fairly intuitive, albeit kinda boring
6. Back panel has connections for everything you may need
7. Lots of power compared to my previous 70W/ch Onkyo. Bass is fuller and sound is a bit warmer.

Cons: 1. Wish it had HD Radio
2. Very sparse paper documentation (full manual in PDF provided on CD)
3. Remote looks like it did 5 years ago
4. Runs a bit hotter than my previous receiver (Onkyo TX-SR608)

Other Thoughts: Great receiver for the price. Everything works and got it up and running with the rest of my home theater gear in 30 minutes.
If you are familiar with Onkyo receivers, this is very easy to set up and work with
This is my first network-enabled receiver and I love all the options it gives me - Pandora, Spotify, etc.
Newegg sent this to me in the plain factory box - so the whole world could see what was sitting on my doorstep.
You can download the iphone app for any Onkyo network-enabled receiver. Not full-featured but still pretty cool.

5 out of 5 eggsIn response to Cheri W's review

Pros: Great customer service

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: I thought Cheri's review was a bit harsh! Anyone who's been "in the know" with Onkyo receivers over the last four years knows it's common knowledge about the HDMI board issue.

Not every Onkyo receiver suffers the HDMI plague but it's common enough that Onkyo will do what it takes to clear up the problem.

My TX-NR807 ran great past it's 2 yr warranty, in the third year of ownership, the HDMI board went south. Did Onkyo blow me off?? NO! I received an "out of warranty" fix. At no cost to me, other than shipping one way, I got my HDMI board replaced, with a firmware upgrade to boot.

After over 4 years of ownership, the 807 is still going strong. At the end of this year, I'll upgrade to the TX-NR3010 to expand my set up to an 11.4.......and the 'ol 807??? It gets relieved of it's Home Theater duties and gets to move into the bedroom to power a 3.0 in-wall set up.

And the 626 here, this looks like a fine receiver, like other Onkyo receivers, it's feature packed and has Audyssey MultEQ. That's what my 807 has and it works great, it gives you a fantastic basic layout of your speaker set up, which you could leave as is, or you have the ability to tweak each setting it you want. Great flexibility and a great feature, it's all about sound, who wouldn't want that??

Highly recommended!

1 out of 5 eggsOnkyo was once a great product

Pros: It works great till it fails. Typically the hdmi board stops working within the first year of use.

Cons: Onkyo used to be my go to brand. In the last 10 years there product quality has gone down to the point that I would never purchase another onkyo product again. Please do some research before you buy.

Other Thoughts: Take the time to call onkyo's customer support before you purchase. See how well they take care of there customers after The Point of Sale. Each time I have called it was over an hour wait. (I have called 6 times total) 3 times for my unit. 2 times for friends unit and 1 time for are churches unit. (all of which I recommended Onkyo to them).

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome receiver

Pros: Upgraded from a 5.1 sony receiver to this and this thing is awesome. I use multiple devices to upconvert to 1080p to my Sony KDL55W900A. This thing fits my needs and delivers amazing sounds to my polk speakers. Best home theater receiver i have owned to this date. Can not beat the features for the price and has so many options. There are indepth reviews on youtube so check them out before purchasing to see if this is for you. The LCD is not to bright so it does not distract from movie watching in the dark at all. I also runs very cool in my basement setup. The remote is very responsive and I can switch between various media devices on the fly with easy.

Cons: This is not a con but i noticed that you need to turn on the receiver first before any other peripherals or some times it will not pick up the video signal. No big deal.

Other Thoughts: For the price and features you get, it is very hard to beat this unit. Newegg shipped this to my door within 4 days after ordering. It was awesome.
