With over 1, 000 stations in more than 200 markets broadcasting digital television, nine out of ten households can now receive free HDTV signals with the right antenna, a set-top box and a high-definition television. Most of the antennas available today are large and unwieldy and need to be mounted outdoors or in a cramped attic. This is not an option if you live in an apartment or condo, or if you don't want the hassle of installing an antenna yourself. The solution is a quality indoor antenna, which can pick up all local HDTV channels; one that will look great next to your television and one that is easy to install.

The TERK HDTVi is the only indoor HDTV antenna optimized for both UHF and VHF reception (channels 2-69). The HDTVi elegantly solves the aesthetic challenge of integrating a log-periodic type element assembly into an indoor antenna. It is tuned for optimum HDTV reception with a unique design that utilizes log-periodic elements and dipoles for receiving both UHF and VHF HDTV broadcasts, allowing you to receive more stations. Its high gain picks up farther stations and its high back-to-front ratio rejects unwanted signals. The UHF antenna element can even be mounted vertically or horizontally to aid in better reception.

Pros: I'm 20 miles from a major city and only get about 5 channels. The channels I get are very clear.

Cons: Large

5 out of 5 eggsYou need this HDTVi antenna

Pros: Was having signal strength trouble with older conventional vhf/uhf antennas including an older large attic mounted unit. The TERK HDTVi unit connected to a usb TV tuner through Windows 7 Media Center solved my signal strenght problems with my PC. Most of the local towers are located on Mt. Wilson some thirty miles away. This antenna solved the bad reception, breakup issues I was having with local vhf/uhf stations. With a scan of available stations with ths antenna at my desk, I pick up over 200 local stations including great HD Free broadcasts. Highly recommended if signal strenght, signal breakup problems exist.

Cons: None so far. Signal strength is superior than a large attic mounted unit.

Other Thoughts: Picks up all the major local HD broadcasts generated thirty miles away. I am happy and highly recommend this unit especially for HD viewing.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Antenna

Pros: *Very good reception out of the box
*All you have to do is point it towards the nearest broadcast tower - little to no adjustment needed after pointing it at the tower.

Cons: *Delivers with old manual version instructing you to go to an outdated website.

Other Thoughts: Once I googled the correct site for the Terk locating guide on which direction to point it, it was great. It gives a degree reading (for example, it told me to point my antenna at 156 degrees) so get a compass or use your smartphone.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it!

Pros: Quick set up, crisp clear picture.

Cons: wish I kicked cable to the curb sooner

Other Thoughts: I read other review saying the base was not stable. Be sure to hook the cord through the notch and there shouldn't be any problem. When I first set it up it was sitting on a computer box...not a steady foundation and there was no tipping at all.

5 out of 5 eggshmmmmm

Pros: Works. I'm rite in the middle of town and have moved twice with it. If your in a multi story building and your a couple stories up it works wonderfully.

Cons: If your on ground level, even in a one story building, reception is shotty unless you pin it to your cealing as I did with tacks and some string, looked a little funny, but hey..... I was the only one in the apartment with a clear picture and I was only 8 miles from the broadcasting tower

Other Thoughts: I believed this was origionally advertised to recieve signal up to 50 miles away................baaaaaahahahahaha. You need to live within 10 miles of a broadcasting tower to get a clear picture, obstructions in the way of signal or not..... priod

4 out of 5 eggsGood antenna for a good price, poor design

Pros: -good price
-sleek look
-seemingly powerful: I bought two, and one is hidden in the log pass-through in my massive stone fireplace. I get perfect reception of UHF and VHF channels even with the VHF antennas only half-extended.

Cons: -design: It's incredibly top-heavy, and the coax cable is stiff enough to pull it over.

Other Thoughts: It's still a good price, and it receives really well if you play around with it.
