5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I live in Brooklyn (south) NY and this antenna works very very well, we could find 35 channels and hd channels looks and sound great, it works better outside but we had it inside for a while and the effect was not much worse.

Cons: we do not pay for a cable or fios so ....

1 out of 5 eggsWaste Of Money *FOR ME*

Pros: Makes a nice place to hang a bird feeder.

Cons: Don't stand under it while the birds are eating!

This antenna simply could not perform any better than the old rabbit ears I was using in my garage for my portable TV. I tried everything from completely replacing my cables, gold plated connectors, eliminating splitters, countless hours of adjusting and rescanning, etc. and nothing improved the reception (and yes, I'm referring to UHF stations - I'm well aware it's not designed for VHF)

Other Thoughts: Do yourself a favor before buying one of these: go down to your local dollar store and pick up the good old-fashioned rabbit ears (usually under 5 bucks) and try them out to get a baseline for what you can expect to get for essentially free. Then if you choose to purchase this item (you may find you don't even need it!), you'll have some idea of whether it's worth the price or not (and can possibly send it back if it isn't).

5 out of 5 eggsShoots through a full building at point blank

Pros: This is technically an outdoor antenna but I have it mounted inside - as in right next to my TV. I have it properly aimed at the antenna up on the mountains but I have an adjacent building immediately next to my building. In other words, this thing is shooting straight through not only my wall, but an entire apartment building.

On a normal sunny day this does fine. If the air is dusty or misty outside as it is here in Arizona sometimes, then the picture can be a little laggy. But seriously, I may as well bury this thing because it has no line of sight (LOS) like an antenna is supposed to, but still works great.

Cons: A little laggy at times when the air is "dirty."

Other Thoughts: I don't watch TV much at all. It is more for watching periodic TV (weather, etc) so I don't have a lot of "antenna time." So if you are like me, why bother paying for cable or satellite when you can just buy this antenna... and have TV for as long as you live close enough to a tower.

Also people, quit watching so much freaking TV!

5 out of 5 eggsSq S2000

Pros: This antenna is low cost, easy to install and looks good. It says that it is UHF but I get VHF channel 11 (NBC 2.1 Orlando FL) as well with the optional antenna booster installed. Since it gets all of the HD channels for the area I am very pleased.

Cons: My Sq. Shooter 2000 was delivered without the power booster Amp. I had to call Winegard directly and they sent it out to me.

Other Thoughts: Since VHF transmission/reception does not travel far, why does any TV station broadcast in the VHS frequency?

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: I live in Phoenix Arizona where the weather is almost always good. However, 3M people live here and that means a lot of buildings to get in the way. I live in a townhome with an entire building blocking my view. There isn't even a way for me to put it on the corner and shoot around the building and I can't put it on the roof. So, it is inside... and it does very well.

Cons: The signal does break up sometimes and get a little blocky. Maybe for a second. But then again, I am shooting in nearly un-ideal situations with an entire building immediately blocking my view and also using it indoors.

It works fine indoors but if your roommates or spouse don't care for a bulky antenna in the house and you can't put it outside then this is not for you!

Other Thoughts: Let's see, $98 for the antenna for life... or $360+ per year for cable/dish/etc. I watch TV maybe once every 2 months, if that. I am not a TV person and do more TV watching on the Computer... so my qualifications are not that high for "TV" viewing. If I want high quality video then I will watch something on my blu-ray and plasma TV. In other words, this is awesome for any sort of casual viewing!

5 out of 5 eggsHDTV on the cheap

Pros: Small-ish, light, easy set-up, complete with mounting bracket, works very well.

Cons: Nothing yet

Other Thoughts: Right now have the antenna sitting on top of a box facing out a window 90 degrees in the wrong direction and it pulls in 7 stations very well, 2 not so well. Antenna towers are 20-25 miles away. Very impressive for a needed short term solution.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: This thing works really well. It's pretty much a straight, flat shot to the stations about 4 to 5 miles away. Installed on roof and it was very easy. Hardware is good quality. Still have to dial it in some, but have to wait till the snow clears.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: A lot bigger than I thought.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat Antenna

Pros: This super duper antenna makes you feel like your gonna get free cable.

Cons: No better than my rabbit ears. I think it's from the early HD days. Remember when satellite antenna were the size of hot tubs. LOL

Other Thoughts: Didnt want to deal with the hassle of sending it back so I kept it.

2 out of 5 eggsss-2000

Pros: Nice Modern Looking Antenna, only if it worked better.

Cons: does not work well in zip code 11782 Sayville NY, actual claim of miles of signal by weingard i find to be false. No VHF at all. UHF Spotty, CBS, NBS weak signal cannot get most of the time. about 5 spanish channels useless to me. All channels come from the Empire State Building with just about the same miles and degees 46 miles and 286 degees. RED CHANNELS DO NOT COME IN BUT THEY STATE THEY SHOULD. Only get FOX, MYTV Channel 9 as the major players with good signal strength. do not go by antennaweb.org i find that the information is not true. even used a compass, have tried various angels. Digital TV is worse than analog, very dissappointed with this antenna & the FCC. there seems to be no rhyme or reason sometimes it works other times no. The TV channels need to provide greater signal strength. SO MUCH FOR DTV just another failure at this time.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product

Pros: Right now I have the antenna in my room facing outa window and I am picking up about 20 HDTV channels from the local area. I couldn't be happier with the performance. I plan on mouning it soon so I will edit this review once its roof mounted.

Cons: none so far
