4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is the second of these small inexpensive units purchased..They do exactly as advertised with no problems ever with either of them.
Really don't need to spend a lot to get something that works!

Cons: The blue LED indicator lights are a little too bright, I just used a black felt pen to mute them , worked perfectly.

5 out of 5 eggsJust right for our purposes

Pros: This is perfect for when you only need to amplify a single sound device, and don't want to spend several hundred dollars on a receiver that can switch between multiple inputs you don't have. It's powerful enough for our light commercial application. And with only three knobs, four buttons, no display, and a power switch, it's dead simple to operate.

Cons: The LEDs for the left and right channel levels are super bright. If you're using this in a dark environment, they can be a bit blinding and add unwanted ambient light.

Without a display and only Previous, Next, and Play/Pause buttons, playing specific tracks from USB memory is going to be tedious.

Other Thoughts: I bought this amp to drive the music system in our 2,700 sq. ft. Laser Tag arena. It's a rectangular room with a concrete floor and chest-high wooden partitions, so the acoustics are less than ideal for evaluating the PCAU44's fidelity, plus the audio source is a $60 pocked-sized Sansa MP3 player. Still, I've connected 4 residential-grade speakers to it in the four corners of the arena, and it easily fills the room with the right volume (loudness) of sound with no noticeable static, hiss, or distortion.

On a side note, Newegg's "Details" section list the color as "Walnut." As cool as a retro wood grain veneer would look, it's just black, like the picture.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy hookup, crisp audio, and more than sufficient volume in a very small package. Bass and Treble response are both excellent.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Blue LEDs on the front for measuring output levels are VERY bright. Also, no frills and only one set of speakers supported - but that's exactly what I needed.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I was looking for a small sized replacement amp with reasonable output..this filled the bill perfectly for the price..I am going to purchase another and split the midrange speakers from the bass , just because it seems like the right thing to do....

Cons: no complaint whatsoever with the's great !

5 out of 5 eggsPylePTA2 40 watt x 2

Pros: Small, Easy to operate. Connected center channel speaker for voices on movies playing from laptop and projector. Plenty loud enough for room of 100 people. For small do it yourself audio system. No static or hum noticeable. Lowest price, simple, budget, amplifier I could find. Blows away the laptop speakers.

Cons: Wish it came with a water tight carry box to keep out rain. Input audio wire not included.

Other Thoughts: It is almost portable. A carry case with speakers would make it perfect for low budget travel. Pyle makes several models all same size but slightly different input, knobs, watts. Small amount of skills required to connect it all up. Simple instructions paper included. I have model PTA2.
