5 out of 5 eggsHuge bass from a little cube!

This review is from: Definitive Technology SuperCube 6000 High Performance Powered Subwoofer - Each (Black)

Pros: Huge amount of bass from a a one square foot cube! I have it in a large room and it shakes the walls two rooms over. Nice tight bass. Sounds great with music and movies.

Cons: None.

3 out of 5 eggsTrust the Brand But Worried

This review is from: Definitive Technology SuperCube 6000 High Performance Powered Subwoofer - Each (Black)

Pros: Insanely low frequency response
Decent size so as it doesn't take up too much room
Trust Def Tech, less fan boy more zealot so Im sure this will be great

Cons: None yet, but I may have made a frivalous purchase. Will update after some listening. I also own the Def Tech Mythos ST's for my fronts, and the Mythos STS's for my rears (as well as a Martin Logan Motif Center channel). All 4 Def Tech Mythos speakers have subs built in. The larger ST models have a 6x10-inch long-throw racetrack subwoofer coupled to two 6x10-inch long-throw bass radiators. They are said to be equal to one 15 inch sub in each tower (each rated at 300 watts). The STS models are almost identical but obviously smaller and do not have nearly the range or sound stage the ST model does. However, these also have a 5x10-inch long-throw racetrack subwoofer coupled to two 5x10-inch long-throw bass radiators which the manufacturer claims has the equivalent output of a 12" subwoofer (again in each tower at 300 watts)

Other Thoughts: So with the 4 mythos towers I already have 1200 watts of bass, and the equivalent of two 15" subs in the front and two 12" subs in the back. Needless to say, I could really peeve off my (Manhattan) neighbors if I wanted too. And at times its even a bit much for me and I fiddle with bass knobs constantly. Got a great deal on this so thought Id see if maybe it evens out the sound stage a bit (bass seems to be too high at times then to low, depending on the media thats playing back)
