3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Picked up targets at a good distance
-Very consistent

Cons: Had it for around 7 months and it will not stop trying to reset itself. Most likely a simple electrical issue which may have been brought on by the Arizona sun.

4 out of 5 eggspicks up alot of random sutff

Pros: can pick up just about anything on the road, when you drive past a grocery store or a store in general it picks up on the security system and tells you how close you are to that object.. does the same thing for police radars too, highway mode is the best!!!!!!

Cons: CVS

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for Price

Pros: Price is what this is all about. They are good for the price. I like the "disconnect" button on the side to pull it down off the dash, can remove it with one hand, nice.

Cons: Not much range on it. You really got to be quick when the lights go off, because you are right on the cop and have maybe 2-3 second warning.

Other Thoughts: Will probably upgrade and spend a bit more for something with more range.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the Price

Pros: I got my first speeding ticket a few months ago and immediately decided to arm myself. I didn't have a lot of money at the time so I bought the XTR-265.

So far this thing has been great. I can count at least 5 times it probably saved me from a speeding ticket - most recently today.

I was cruising on an empty stretch of highway following about 3 or 4 car lengths behind a prius that was doing 95-105mph. Yeah a Prius! rofl. I'm keeping pace with him and we're just cruising. No traffic, empty road. Probably for 20 miles we did this.

Then my Ka band spikes. Goes from 0 to 4 instantly. I slam on the breaks. A second later 5, then another second later 6, then I see the cop - about 600ft away hiding on the side of the road. I went from 100+ to 75mph in a few seconds.

The prius didn't have radar apparently. The cop pulled out after we passed, put his lights on, passed me out, and pulled over the prius.

It only gave me maybe 4 seconds of warning, but it was enough to

Cons: My only con is the range. The range is good, but I wish it had more. Some people claim 1-2 miles. No way. Impossible. The best I've seen has been 0.8 miles at the MOST. (Still more than enough time to slow down).

It seems to me like the cops will use different strengths or radar. Some I can pick up from several thousand feet away and others it's under 1000. It varies.

This past weekend, it picked up a cop through a concrete wall as I was rounding an on-ramp onto a bridge. Was very impressed with that - gave me 3-4 seconds to slow down and that was probably the worst possible circumstances you could come up with.

If the cop is facing you, I find you get more warning - but that's not always true - only most of the time.

Other Thoughts: Very good for the price. Hasn't failed me. Sometimes I'll go by cops on the side of the road, and it won't pick anything up.

When i study the car in the review mirror I can usually tell that either, there's no cop inside, or he's obviously not scanning traffic. Lots of times cops will only sit on the side of the road passing time and not have their radar on. I've seen that many many times. If a cop does have their radar on it WILL catch it and if you're quick should always give you enough time to slow down.

5 out of 5 eggsI don't always use radar, but when I do, I choose whistler, stay cloaked my friends

Pros: 4 days after I got it in the mail, I began a relocating trip to Florida from Buffalo, NY. I have had a radar detector since I started driving in 2004 but the one I had prior to this only detected x, k, ka band and was severely outdated. This one picks up radar/laser welllllllllll before you even know where they are. There was multiple times it went off about then sure enough 2 miles later, there's the fuzz! Also Laser detection works great, especially when I passed through Georgia. Here's a tip for anyone who's driving through Georgia, when you see an over pass, look to see if there's someone up there, its a biker trooper shooting laser. and the VG 2 cloaking was a life saver through virginia or w. virginia cause radar is illegal there, but it didnt stop me from knowing where they were at all times. ZERO TICKETS thus far. :-) Happy driving.

Cons: Don't freak out when your radar shuts off from picking up X band, you can disable it from doing that easily.....that's my only con, i freaked out when it looked like it shut off but kept beeping.

Other Thoughts: Blue led's are a great indication when your middle of the night driving and you got your music louder than your able to hear the beep, you can't miss them glowing.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Detector!

Pros: I bought this from NewEgg in the beginning of Summer 2010 and it works great! Saved me a couple of times from cops that were over hills/through curvy roads that were lined with corn fields. Great range and does it's job well.

Cons: Cannot detect cops without their radar on, but of course that is completely obvious and not a flaw, more sarcasm than anything.
