The HD7000R is a compact "yagi" with uniform gain across both the UHF and VHF spectrum. The uniform gain curve on both UHF and VHF and increased front to back ratio contribute to an antenna that can extend beyond the range of the sensar, MetroStar, and bowtie antennas.

3 out of 5 eggsFair

Pros: Inexpensive, large, works pretty good

Cons: Poor packaging. Nuts fell out of box during shipping.

Other Thoughts: It's ok. Not the most attractive antenna and some plastic parts. I probably won't be installing this on the exterior but in the attic.

4 out of 5 eggshit & miss

Pros: low price good performance not to big .made in america.

Cons: depends on your area /obstructions /transmitter distance & power/ antenna height / directional in nature.

Other Thoughts: hit & miss if you can find a good antenna rotator that will help a lot i have 2 antennas this one & i believe its the rca 751 in oposite directions on a combiner to one quadshield cable in central florida i get about 45 chanels. with no rotator.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Offers both UHF and VHF reception (most antenna's don't)
Does what it is supposed to
Most of our station transmitters are 15-20 miles away but also receive signals from Salem which are 60 miles away.

Cons: Didn't come with a mast (knew it didn't but still would have been nice)

Other Thoughts: Living in a lower wooded area of SE Portland OR and installing in attic was worried but all stations come in crystal clear. Make sure you have a compass and point the antenna toward the station transmitters (they are usually close together) and if you have a long way to the tv I recommend a pre-amp (amplifies signal) with an FM trap (FM signals interfere with UHF/VHF reception.
Next I bought a Channel Master OTA (over the air) DVR (this DVR is acutally made by Dish Network) NO MONTHLY FEES and records in HD. I bought it refurbished directly from Channel Master for 299 with free shipping . Remember Over the air signal is HD and most times better than cable or sattelite (OTA is 1080i and cable/sat is 720p) so stop paying the cable company! Stations I get in HD-ABC, CBS, NBC, OPB, WB, FOX and a couple of other religious channels. There are also a bunch of other stations in non HD I don't watch or record. It's painful not getting ESPN/FoxSports but these aren't worth 65.00 a month to me.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for low band VHF

Pros: Nashville TN has several stations on low band VHF- this antenna picks those up beautifully. All other bands come in great also.

Cons: Too big for indoors- I mounted mine in the attic

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Antenna

Pros: Was able to pick up all of the local channels that are less than 20 miles away.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Purchased this because Comcast has switched to digital format and I would need to upgrade to HD service to get the local channels in HD that were once free.

4 out of 5 eggsBetter than expected

Pros: Recieves more channels than expected. Antennaweb and manufacturers website suggested the next model up for my location and application.

Cons: Mounting hardware is limited, but works acceptably.

Other Thoughts: The antenna is mounted on the roof with little to no obstruction; however, before mounting it was able to pick up nearly every channel when tested inside near the tv. I might be stretching the limits, but a tv separated by a 4-way splitter and another 2-way splitter (100+ feet of coax in between) still recieves all of the signals picked up with no split (and <30 of coax).
