1 out of 5 eggsSamsung makes good tv's and terrible blu-ray players

Pros: This blu-ray player does everything I wanted it to, and had noticeably better quality than my previous samsung blu-ray player. It does netflix, pandora, hulu, and several other interesting apps. The load times were so much faster than our previous blu-ray player we bought 2 years ago.

Cons: This blu-ray player started "blipping" out after the first week of using it. "Blipping" = screen would flicker white and would try to reaquire signal repeatedly. After 2 weeks was unusable. I checked the tv, swapped out the hdmi cable and swapped out the blu-ray player with another blu-ray player. I am shipping it back to Newegg for a refund and will then look for a different brand of blu-ray player

Other Thoughts: I love my Samsung tv, but I will never buy another samsung product besides a tv again. I think they trade on their tv reputation to make poor quality products.

1 out of 5 eggsDied right after the warranty expired

Pros: Worked great until it died.

Cons: After 13 months of ownership it began playing only 27 minutes of a Blu Ray movie and DVDs would randomly pixelate on the screen followed by a loud squealing sound.

Other Thoughts: I did like the player until it decided to die on me. It was annoying that it died one month out of warranty.

1 out of 5 eggsUpdate after 2 weeks of ownership

Pros: Simple operation

Cons: Netflix stopped working and reset does not bring it back. No available software update (I have the latest software).
Very frustrating. It worked for a week and now is a problem.

4 out of 5 eggsBang for the buck!

Pros: Sleek, good interface, and plays .avi. It has updated a few times since we have plugged it in and seems to make a difference. I've tried a blue ray, DVD, .avi via USB, and Netflix. All work flawlessly.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Make sure you hard wire this or get an access point. I am lucky enough to have my entire house networked.

1 out of 5 eggscomplete junk

Pros: worked out of the box.

Cons: don't work much longer than just past the warranty. I have three of these, picked up third just before first one died. All are past warranty they just boot to the Samsung screen and stay there, nothing you do can fix, except pay Samsung $80+shipping to flash roms.

Other Thoughts: I have replaced with LG players and no issues yet... Stay far away from Samsung, of course I bought them when they were priced $250+

2 out of 5 eggsNo Netflix

Pros: Black

Cons: Tried two players but can't get netflix to work or even install.

Other Thoughts: It verified the network connection as OK, but the speed test shows 0kbps, leading me to believe that Samsung's servers are down.

1 out of 5 eggsjunk

Pros: none

Cons: This is an incomplete mess. i have rma'd the first one, and now I cannot open another one for the second one because its been over thirty days. worked for about a week and now I get nothing on screen and will not go to menu. both of these did this.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy!!! I love samsung tvs, and wish this would work. I would hope their more expensive models do alot better

3 out of 5 eggsHow much for wireless!?!?

Pros: Looks great. The DVD upscaling makes older videos look nice. Playing videos via usb is great.

Cons: Only takes Samsung's wireless adapters, won't recognize anything else. Their adapters are some of the most expensive I've ever seen. Not even common brands like Netgear or Linksys. Save yourself the frustration and money, buy a long enough ethernet cable to reach from a router or access hub and just plug the thing in directly.

Other Thoughts: As a lot of apps available that they don't tell you about. Games, social networking access, music, news, all sorts of stuff.
