Sangean packs over 3 decades of experience into each WR-2 table-top radio. This exceptional radio packs a lot of features into a small cabinet. These features include an alarm clock that will always keep accurate time since it is set by the time feature of the Radio Data Service.

The radio data service will also give you information about the station, the song and the artist. It's all displayed on the large LCD screen. The display is back-lit so it will be readable in any light.

You can use the controls on the front of the radio or the included remote control. Either way the music will sound good coming from the 3" speaker that has an enlarged magnet for a fuller sound.

High Quality Sound The Sangean WR-2 features an acoustically tuned wooden cabinet and a 3" high-performance speaker with enlarged magnet driver to deliver full-range sound with improved bass response, along with PLL Synthesized digital tuning technology for crystal-clear reception.
Alarm Clock Function The Sangean WR-2 wakes you up to a beeping tone or your favorite radio programming. The snooze function lets you sleep a little longer and wakes you up later, so you never come late for an important activity.
Clear LCD Screen with Backlit The Sangean WR-2 features a clear LCD screen with backlit for easy viewing of the channel frequency, current time, alarm setting and more information.

Bass and treble settings. Quality construction. Cons: Confusing, multiple steps for setting alarm. No battery backup (see comments) No USB or iPod input. Mono sound. Other Thoughts: This radio is all about sound quality. Don't buy if you are looking primarily for an alarm clock. A major pain just to set time, requiring multiple button pushes, plus no battery backup for radio settings. Curiously, there is a 12 v DC input even though the radio is 110AC. Hint; I went to The shack and purchased a 9v battery holder and connected a battery to the DC input. Presto, power outage protection for my radio and alarm settings - although I would guess the radio would quickly drain the battery if sound was left on. Did you find this review helpful?
