Pros: * FM antenna connector
* Good build quality (poor sound quality)
* Can play both USB and SD, but see cons below!

Cons: For a nearly $300 radio, the Sangean WR-3 is really disappointing...

* Has only a miniscule 2GB SD card capacity!!! For a device dedicated to music, this is completely unacceptable. If you want to listen to high quality music and have allot of it, you're forced to use the poorly designed USB port.

* The sound is not crisp and cannot be made so. The adjustments consist of single bass and treble.bands - no real EQ - and the sound scape is adjusted by an on/off switch on the back. The sound is not bad, but it is mushy. CD playback may be even worse, but i'm not completely certain.

* The location and orientation of the USB input is jack is designed with the typical utter lack of imagination; with a mem stick plugged in, it will stick out well beyond the case, making it very easy to bump or break, especially if you have kids. I find it incredible that such a design issue, which could easily have been circumvented, was not even considered.

* DOES NOT REMEMBER SETTINGS for USB/SD card playback! For ex., if you set a playlist/folder and set the playback order (random, repeat, etc.), the settings are LOST as soon as you switch play-back modes! Again, totally unacceptable, even for a $50 radio.

* NON-EXISTENT FIRMWARE UPDATES - i have not been able to find any firmware for this device anywhere except for a single 3rd party patched firmware to fix a specific problem. So while Sangean clearly states in the manual that the firmware can be updated and changed to switch receiver frequencies, they have NO SUCH FIRMWARE available for download. This also very likely means that shortcomings, such as the SD card capacity and the inability to save settings, will probably never be addressed.

* While the overall build quality appears good, the case itself is shiny, black plastic - a fingerprint magnet.

* Device is utterly useless without the remote.

Other Thoughts: If this radio would come in around the $100-150 mark, i would say it would probably be worth the cost, but for a nearly $300 radio, it is a FAILURE in both design and sound quality.

5 out of 5 eggsSangean WR-3

Pros: Very high quality fit and finish does not stop there.
This is so much more than a great radio. The tuner is top shelf, both AM & FM stations are received with clarity and definition. The speakers and amplifier have more than enough power to fill a good sized room.
What it is over and beyond a CD player/radio combo is it will play CD's that are filled with Mp3 or WMA file types in addition to a standard CD. But wait there is more... It has a nifty drop down door beneath the main control knob that reveals a slot for a SDHC card and a USB port that allow you to play media files in the above mentioned formats. One can "line in" audio from a portable music player as well.
I have a SanDisk Sansa player plugged in via usb that both accepts a charge and plays the media files stored on it, all the while displaying the song currently playing.
How cool is that? Take your tunes with and fully charged too!
Plays LOUD without breaking up, fully adjustable bass and treble

Cons: Limited functionality without use of remote.
Display is always on and non adjustable as to brightness.

Other Thoughts: I own three other Sangean radios, one is 25 years old and works as well as the day it was bought. Another is a pocket type radio that has been dropped and even kicked inadvertently across the floor and into the wall that aside from being chipped and cracked works wonderfully.

I have had other name brand radios that have fared much worse and have long parted with.
I bought this as a Mothers Day gift "that can play anything" and it does. Mom should love this in her office.
Wondering if it can charge other music/phones via USB while plugged into the AUX "line it"... it should be possible.
Have not tried a 32 Gig SDHC card yet but a 2 Gig works fine.
3D sound switch on the back offer a novel wide sound that may work to your advantage if you want to give it a try.
Have not found any other table radio that offers all the Sangean WR-3 does
It IS heavy, I have to imagine it is made out of wood composite.
Buy one, you will love it
