Sangean's new WR-5 AM / FM-RBDS digital tuning table-top radio with iPod docking station transforms your listening experience. Featuring more choices and crystal-clear sound, the WR-5 lets you enjoy your music the way it was meant to be heard.
Made for iPods, this system allows you to listen to your favorite tunes using the integrated docking station. The WR-5 has a built-in AM/FM tuner and memory for 12 presets, letting you listen to your favorite music and talk radio. The large, easy-to-see back-lit LCD with brightness, contrast, and display mode adjustments displays the current frequency and your current time. The system also features 2 alarm timers plus snooze function, and a telescoping antenna for better reception.
Good Choice if you want FM/AM and Aux
Pros: Great sound for the money, nice warm bass and crisp tones from radio, iPod, and Aux. The sound controls, including the the 3D make a difference and let you adjus to your taste or the particular music. The sound really fills the room and it sounds great whether you are facing the radio or not.
Cons: The dials to control the volume and tuning/iPod scroll are touchy and will jump around if you try to turn them too quickly or with two fingers at the same time. The controls on top and the iPod dock are made of a dull plastic that cheapens the look a bit.
Other Thoughts: In this $100 range you have so many choices for ipod docks and radios, but the WR-5 is one of the few that gives you AM/FM radio, and Aux input and Hi-Fi table top sound. If it weren't for my wife's iPod I probably would wave opted for the WR-2. I have a Cowon mp3 player (from New Egg too) and I use the Aux input and it sounds great. I would recommend this if you need a nice radio as much as you need and iPod dock. The touchy dials are all that prevent this from getting 5 stars.

Pros: No idea... yet.
Cons: The WR-5 arrived today, and I was looking forward to putting it to use. However, the audio, and iPod controls were non-existent. Imagine that... a new audio device and no sound what-so-ever from any source (am, fm, iPod). Ridiculous. I called Sangean, and they confirmed it was a bad radio that slipped past thier QA/QC. Newegg is mailing out a replacement as I type this. Hopefully the second unit will work. If not, this will be the first and last Sangean product I purchase.

Much Better Than I Had Expected
Pros: This is the first Sangean product I've ever owned. I had been wanting a iPod dock radio for a wile. But to be honest most of the don't look all that nice. And the few I've listen to at WalMart, Target, Best Buy, and other places sound like a cheap tinny radio. And the price they charge for them is high-way robbery.
Cons: Not enough radio presets. (Not a biggie tho)
Other Thoughts: I really like the Radio Data System (FM only tho) Station ID, Song info and what ever else the station wants to program the RDS to show on your display. I dropped my iPhone in the dock, it sort of works with my iPhone. It fully works with my gen 6 "iPod Classic" Its funny I've not been this happy with a electronic device in a long time. The clock even show the month, date, and day (Apr 15 Fir) and the year in another setting. Heck it also lets you set Daylight Savings time. That is cool!
