4 out of 5 eggsOK for what it is.

Pros: The ability to play video in addition to audio was a surprise. The navigation system is functional, more so than I expected.
Display looks fine. Resolution is fine. Good that it can use up to 32BG USB devices.

Cons: Time is not battery backed, unplugging the unit it goes back to 1-1-2011. No headphone jack makes is a disappointment, otherwise it could be a car mp3 player... darnit.

Other Thoughts: Its worth it if you get it cheap. As a picture frame viewer, it is properly designed. The cons I mentioned would take it out of its intended use but would have been very cool.

1 out of 5 eggsAbsolute Minimalist Frame

Pros: This unit appears to be able to handle huge amounts of files. It is also compact for the display size, much smaller than normal offerings from other vendors. I know, I bought three different units, but in the end ended up sending this one back.

Cons: The operating system on this one is a real kuge, as is the remote. Worse yet, even though it came with a USB cable, it appears to have no PC connectivity. I never could get my PC to recognize the onboard memory as a removable device. That means I couldn't use the onboard memory, and could only use an added SDHC chip or memory stick, which is what I ended up doing.

Other Thoughts: Looks like Newegg quit carrying these, probably getting too many back again. I am sending my unit back for a refund, too many flaws in this one. Out of three I bought, an H* unit, a C*** unit, and this Aluratek model, I am only keeping the C*** unit, as only it really works for my needs.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid good looking frame

Pros: -Image quality is very good
-SD slot
-Easy to use
-Looks good

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: All I wanted was a nice looking frame with good image quality that could display and SD card of pictures. That's all I was expecting and the Aluratek delivered. I popped in my SD card, clicked play and off it went. I was happy.
I can't talk to the manual, remote, etc. I didn't need any of that. Just a slideshow, and that works great.
That said, I paid thirtyfour for this and now its much more. I probably wouldn't pay more than forty.

1 out of 5 eggsBeware of Aluratek bait and switch

Pros: none

Cons: Ordered this product from another vendor (sorry newegg you were out of stock) what arrived was the ADPF08SF. Aluratek had printed "ADMPF108F" on the box and device but the images on the box and the device itself are the ADPF08SF. Ordered it specifically for the ability to hang on the wall which the ADPF08SF does not have.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: None

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: And I guess that we are supposed to know what an "OSD" is through some sort of mental telepathy because they use it half a dozen times in the documentation but never define it.

OSD = On Screen Display.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Photo Frame

Pros: Good screen, much the same as more expensive 800x600 dig photo frames, I actually like the contrast and color rendition better than a viewsonic i also just bought. Was a little concerned about the "Aluratek" name as a name I've never heard of, but it's also of more sturdy build than the viewsonic. All in all, if you're looking for a Good 8" Dig Photo Frame, and not just good-for-the-money, but Good you should try this one (and yes, it is cheaper with a few more functions than the other bigger name ones)

Cons: Read comments about the speaker not being so good, I didn't expect it to be good, and don't really like the thought of background music. For some reason, the on board memory maxed out at around 380mb. I would have like a random option (there is a random option, but it chooses the transition btw photos, not random display of photos)

Other Thoughts: I'm probably going to buy another one, as it's one sale now with free shipping for a total of $10 less than I paid. Also, the remote control is a nice touch.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good looking, high resolution, excellent picture quality.

Cons: The manual majorly sucks. As with all offshore products, the translation from the original was done literally without a thought as to how it would translate into normal English. Leftward? Rightward? Not in my dictionary.

And I guess that we are supposed to know what an "OSD" is through some sort of mental telepathy because they use it half a dozen times in the documentation but never define it.

They say that you can transfer pictures from computer to picture frame but never tell you how to do it.

Do you suppose some day importers will get a clue that customers who can't figure out all the fancy features without some reference to them in documentation will not be able to use all the features that they paid for?

Other Thoughts: I thought perhaps there would be a "how to" section at Aluratek's web site. Wrong. They don't even have a copy of the manual or quick start guide posted, much less an updated or more detailed set of instructions.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty good!

Pros: Great Price, easy to use controls and remote, on/off time feature, plenty of on-board storage with room to grow and a great picture (800x600!!).

Again Newegg, thanks again for the fast shipping and great deals!

Cons: None so far, just wish there was more reviews.

Other Thoughts: Bought a few for Christmas gifts and had to play with them before wrapping them up. I'm pretty happy with them and will probally order one myself. It doesn't have Wifi, OLED, lasers, deathrays or any junk like that to jack the price up so it's a plus. Compared to several I've seen for twice the price and half the resolution these frames are better.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Frame & Value

Pros: Really impressed with the digital quality. I own two other frames and this one is half the price of the other once and has superior quality. The frame has really neat features for photos, music, video and it also has the ability to read ebooks. The display is large and clear enough to see my pictures from across my living room.

Cons: So far I am loving the product - I haven't found anything that I dislike about the product yet.
