5 out of 5 eggsNikkon 550

Pros: This range finder is right on the money. Newegg has the best price I found. Shipping and delivery were fast and efficient as always. If you're shooting a bow from a tree 30 feet in the air, this is your baby. It gives you the true archery yardage and not the linear distance. Range finder said 25 yards, distance was 30 yards, shot the deer for 25 yards and hit the exact spot I aimed at, allowing me to bring home the biggest deer of my life. Thanks Newegg and Nikon.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: You can't go wrong and the price on Newegg won't be beat.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Egg Strikes Again

Pros: Quality product with clear optics, variable ranging modes, as well as the "latest & greatest" angle compensating technology at a great price. It's also thinner and lighter than the model I was replacing... a Bushnell Legend.

Cons: Can't really think of any legitimate issues. It even came with a battery. I guess I could say that the carrying case is not as form-fitting as the one that my Bushnell rangefinder came with. But, it's still quite serviceable.

Other Thoughts: You won't find this product online any cheaper. Oh, sure, I've seen it new (supposedly new anyway) on a certain auction website (that shall remain nameless) for just about the same price. But, most of those sellers want at least $15 to ship the item. NewEgg only hit me for $5 shipping and, as usual, the product was at my door in just a few days (and that was with a holiday weekend in there).

5 out of 5 eggsSimple to use - great price

Pros: Great price from the 'Egg. Simple to use this unit. Compared to a leupold rangefinder that also had the built-in inclinometer (sp?) and it had too many menu selections (which is a big thumbs down for field use). The Nikon Riflehunter switches modes with the press of a button. Used to good purpose sighting in two new rifles last weekend. Usually have to measure by manual means, this made target ranging SOOOO much easier getting things setup.

Cons: Step down to 6X magnification from 8X magnification on the older 400 series. 8X would have been nice.

Other Thoughts: When I set on looking for the best price from a reputable vendor I did NOT think of the 'Egg. I buy a lot of stuff here, but a hunting accessory was not something I would have expected to find. Turned out that with my web searching that the 'Egg had the best price from a reputable vendor (and Bing CB at the time as well!). Great Job 'Egg. You keep giving the good surprises!
