Sharp 1100 Watts Microwave Oven R1214T Sensor Cook Stainless Steel

Pros: Very High fit and finish - controls easy to operate as they are touch sensitive. Removable glass turntable. Stainless steel outside white enamel inside.
Mounts under 24" wide cabinet clears up counter space for items like a mixer. No venting needed self contained out the bottom of unit - has optional wire racks for S hooks for cups etc, work great - have 2.
Has plenty of power - melts cheese in a single bound - able to boil water - faster than a normal cooktop - its super if you get my drift.
The Carousel is another great Sharp idea; first one's out a long time ago - it also reverse's rotation direction when using. Interior lamp is bright.
Has standard attached electrical cord plug.
Over all this is unit is a perfect match for US - we are enjoying it's design, fit and function.

Cons: Glass turntable: As this is above the counter the probability of breakage from dropping is greater vs one on the counter. That's OK as I am the only one to clean it, As w all microwaves you should cover foods w a paper towel if you don't want red sauce on the walls and other internal parts of any microwave. Must be something to do w red sauces it don't happen w a white sauce - LOL.
Noise factor - haven't found one that is quiet (INCLUDING WIFE) this is what I call standard and given its over all design, it's on par w other counter top and cooktop units, the magnetron and fan, as well as the occasional beep noises when done are all about normal. Wife says its quieter than the GE Spacemaker it replaced.
Door not reversible, left hinged. Door does protrude out - about 38" when fully opened.
Bottom mount lamps are not useful as we have LED's under the cabinet and the Sharp lamps are not changeable to different lamp color yet!

Other Thoughts: We redid our kitchen this was one of the items I found that made sense. Replaced a over the cooktop microwave w vent - that became a standard Hood. So where to place the mic. As placing it on the counter-top was out per management (Wife) this confounded me until I found this design, She said that it was acceptable as the cabinet that it was mounted under was reachable for her. We have a 36' tall cabinet next to it w a 4 inch drop from the ceiling so its about 40 " to the bottom edge from ceiling - we have 20" below microwave.
Mounting requires two people to hold the unit - I did several dry runs - use template 4 pilot holes to make sure before drilling through cabinet. The mounting frame needs to be square w the front edge of the cabinet as the walls are never straight & even - shimming of frame to get edges to align. Do use a single circuit breaker wire run don't add additional load to the breaker read install guide.
Door and latch closes solidly not flimsily.
