5 out of 5 eggsHoover so good, fired my caregiver

Pros: It has super suction. It really sucks. It has lots of attachments. Ya gotta watch out what it sucks on because it won't let go.

Cons: It has to be lifted up to get back to, and into, difficult to reach places. Lifting is not good. Extra extensions would help. Sometimes I stand on a 3-step ladder and rest the vacuum on top of my desk to get behind it to clean the window sills and floor below near the walls.

Other Thoughts: My caregiver's vacuum was less powerful so I returned it to her after receiving this new supper Hoover. And a year later I fired her as her performance was greatly decreasing. I had to redo her inadequate work or do more for myself. It is less stressful around here nowadays.

4 out of 5 eggsCan't complain

Pros: It sucks.
(Wayne's World references FTW)

Cons: Bags... had new carpet in two locations now, I shred through bags like no other. Wish I had a bag-less option. As a 20-something male, I'm not too forward thinking in the vacuum category.

Other Thoughts: This thing does work great, it definitely cleans up the carpets just fine (within reason)... just wish I had gone bag-less.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent value

Pros: excellent performance
excellent price
decent toolset
uses a bag

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: It just works great. strong suction and it almost feels like its sel propelled (but it is NOT) when its in upright carpet mode. I like bag models.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat value

Pros: Tried this product because I was tired of dealing with bagless vacuums and all the expensive filters, etc. This unit has great suction and seems like it will be easy to maintain (washable filters, easy to find bags). I have a dog that sheds alot, and this does a great job of getting the hair and filtering the doggie odor...unlike my previous vac (other brand) that began to smell regardless of changing filters. Overall, this is a great product for the price. I've already recommended it to friends.

Cons: The hose that comes with it could be a little better quality, but it's a minor flaw.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Value!

Pros: As everyone notes, this vacuum has great suction and a high-speed beater brush. I lower the handle to the floor (someone said that you can't do this, but you just hit the foot pedel again and it will lay flat), and it walked itself across a low pile area rug. This picks up much more than my last vacuum. Low-cost generic bags (online) that work fine.

Cons: The bag is small, so they need to be changed frequently. The beater brush always spins--when you lock the vacuum in the upright position, it lifts the beater brush off the carpet...mostly. The hose is short and cheap. It crimps easily if you're not careful. The cord is shorter than most.

Other Thoughts: I figured that there would need to be some corners cut to sell this vacuum for under $70. Overall, I imagine that it will last several years--maybe longer if I can get some replacement parts, like the hose. At the price, it's almost a disposable vacuum, but it does a great job cleaning.

3 out of 5 eggsNot for a house

Pros: Very powerful. Cheap. look like a lot for the money.

Cons: See below. Poor design in some respects and poor handling. Maybe good for my kids in college to clean their room (like if they were going to do that... ). Useless for a house.

Other Thoughts: Although it seems a great buy for the price, this vacuum cleaner has several flaws which prevent my cleaning lady to use it. The power cord is badly located and jams around the wheels, the body does not go flat preventing the vacuum to go under beds and furnitures, and despite it's lightweight it is not maneuverable. It might be good for a small apartment but not for a larger house. After 1 hour my cleaning lady had the verdict: return it and get your money back.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Vacuum

Pros: Powerful suction, easy to maneuver, durable. It does everything a vacuum is supposed to do and at an affordable price.

Cons: The hose is a bit short and I personally don't like that the cord attaches at the bottom of the vacuum rather than closer to the handle but I've adjusted to it.

Other Thoughts: I've had mine for going on 4 years and only paid $50 at the time. I've replaced the belt twice in the four year and only because I sucked up a work-boot shoe lace. I've noticed that over the years the price has close to doubled. Since it was on sale for $60, I just purchased another one to keep as a spare, just in case. As for the bags, I also purchase them online for $6.10 for 9. If you have other purchases totaling $25, shipping is free. I usually add a package of bags to my order to bring me up to $25. But, even with shipping, the bag cost $1.28 each.

4 out of 5 eggsFix for Height Issues

Pros: Works well, durable, cheap to run

Cons: Height adjustment is insufficient out-of-the-box, causing the vacuum to sit too low, and preventing the brushes from spinning.

I fixed by opening up the bottom, and using a folded piece of cardboard to raise the vacuum base up even higher. I lost the ability to adjust the height, but as all my carpet is the same length, no big deal.

Other Thoughts: It's a really good vacuum-- had it almost 4 years now. I got tired of vacuums losing suction after a few months, so I did my research and found this one.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Value Vac

Pros: Cost (only $65 on a NewEgg special)
Lightweight
Picks up better than inexpensive bag-less vacs
Bags can be found cheap online and keep pollen, etc. in the bag unlike bag-less removal

Cons: This model is not as durable as well as previous Hoover models. I'm not expecting 10+ years as I got from my previous Hoover vac. Of course, I spent $200+ for my previous model so this is an unfair comparison.

Other Thoughts: For the price, this is a very nice vac and I can definitely recommend it. I'm hoping to get a few good years out of it with regular use.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Powerful suction, easy to push and maneuver, wide path (great for big rooms), excellent value.

Cons: Short cord. Light weight materials. So-so performance on bare floors.

Other Thoughts: Hard to believe a vac at this price point performs so well! Yes, it is a bit noisy but I don't find the sound annoying. Reviewers at other sites mentioned flexible tubing collapsing on itself. The unit I received did not exhibit that flaw; perhaps the result of a redesign. The wide path could be a detriment if you have a lot of furnishings with limited space between.
