Panasonic has developed an iron free of dangerous tangles!

The water tank separates at the touch of a button, so it can be filled at the tap, without spillage. You can get either a jet-of-steam or a spray, to help press out those stubborn wrinkles! The stainless steel soleplate glides quickly over the fabric, preventing sticking and scorches as you go. The cord to the heating station is retractable into its own storage compartment, so it will not tangle. For safety's sake, the iron will automatically switch off if it stays in the port for more than 10 minutes. Iron with or without steam at the touch of a button!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome iron

Pros: This iron creates a lot of steam, which I like because it easily gets all wrinkles out.
Besides being usable as a normal steam iron it is usable vertically in steam mode so that you can get wrinkles out of hanging clothes.

Cons: I haven't found anything I don't like about this iron, and the price is right. It works better and has more features than many irons much more expensive

5 out of 5 eggsFinally, the iron of my dreams

Pros: Flows like silk;
Cord retraction mechanism;
Water tank capacity;
Squirt jet is just what I wanted, shoots to the front with a narrow shotgun pattern;
Not too heavy;
Good range of temps.

Cons: Takes awhile to cool off? Kind of a stupid con, as it's an iron and it gets hot.

Other Thoughts: A single fill of the water tank had enough to do the following without a refill while set on continuous steam emission:
1 canvas/cotton skirt
1 pair cotton women's pants
6 pairs men's cotton/canvas pants;
4 men's cotton/canvas shirts
What a pleasure to use this iron.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Product

Pros: Had this model for several years 'til it died the other day. So I bought another one.

Cons: Discontinued? Some channels may still have it; not sure what new model replaced it.

Other Thoughts: I wanted the cordless but was not sure how well it managed the heat consistency when in use. And it was quite a few bills more.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good iron

Pros: Best features are the removable reservoir and roll-up power cord. Good amount of steam and lightweight, auto-shutoff for safety, pretty much everything you want from an iron. My wife is an "iron fiend", and she approves.

Cons: Not quite sure it is fair to rate this as a con: Because it is so light and the soleplate is so smooth, it could easily be knocked off the ironing board.

Other Thoughts: The catch for the removable water reservoir is a bit "lightweight", or vague. Would have been nice to make this more "robust". (This is a personal preference, just like I prefer computer keyboards with a more solid feel and positive feedback.)

4 out of 5 eggsGood Iron

Pros: Good price for a good iron. I checked many many reviews, stores, sales before deciding on this iron. Works even better than expected.

Cons: I do wish the cord was a couple feet longer, but this is a minor nitpick. Also, NewEgg ships these from eastern US, not from their SoCal warehouse. This was sad for me as the SoCal warehouse ships to me in a day, usually. This took 10 days. Maybe I'm just spoiled.

Other Thoughts: It truly astounds me that it is so difficult to find a decent iron at a decent price in a local store.

5 out of 5 eggsBest iron I've ever owned

Pros: This is a great iron... does all things well... lots of steam (enough to use as a light-duty steamer), nice polished stainless steel base, roll-up cord, etc. But the best part is the removable water reservoir... a button releases it from the front, making it easy to fill at the sink.

Cons: The water sprayer (not the burst of steam, but the spray) shoots out a thin line of water... wish it were more like a mist

Other Thoughts: Buy one... it's great. I've had mine for several years and it's still working perfectly. Saw that NewEgg sold them (while rummaging around the site) and thought it deserved a review.
