The soft head moves as it soothes and she finds that very stimulating, relieving her pain over and over again. Plus, it's pretty quite so it doesn't wake the children. Cons: Only 2 speeds, strong and stronger. Often a more gentle vibration is wanted, especially at the beginning. Other Thoughts: This has long been the gold standard of these products, so I bought one to enhance our relationship. To control the powerful motor, I plugged it into a Leviton TBI03-1LW desk lamp dimmer and handed her the control. All I can say is, WOW! First she started with one of these and it lead to other worse problems I cannot share. Self satisfaction repeatedly had built a path in her brain so large it changed her terribly.
