4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It cleans my (small) apartment well. I have a cat, and I didn't realize how much cat hair was ingrained in my carpet until I used this vacuum. I'd say it works as well as some of the ridiculously expensive ones.

Cons: It gives off a lot of heat and is a bit of a workout to push around, but neither one of those things is a dealbreaker, at all.

Other Thoughts: I use this vacuum maybe once a week. I would definitely recommend it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Vacuum

Pros: The power and versatility is great. It picked up so much that my previous vacuum did not.

Cons: A little bit of assembly and learning initially required, but that's really no big deal. Also, my box was missing the dusting brush attachment.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Vacuum

Pros: Good suction and great pet hair tool! Maneuvers around furniture very easily and is not too heavy.

Cons: The hose that goes with the attachments is too short, making it difficult to reach far from the vacuum.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Vacuum

Pros: I have been using this vacuum for 3 months and my overall take on it is that it's a great value for the money.

My previous vacuum was Eureka, which was heavy and difficult to maneuver. I did my weekly vacuuming with the Eureka and then proceeded to vacuum again with my new Shark Navigator. Could not believe how much dirt, fibers and hair this vacuum picked-up.

One reviewer complained about this vacuum not having as wide a path as other vacuums. While that may be true, it also means that this vacuum can go places my previous wide Eureka could not go. Since it's has great suction, you don't have to make multiple passes to deep clean your carpet. It is a very powerful vacuum and very simple to put together. Attachments are great and the stair attachment does a good job of vacuuming carpeted stairs.

I found this vacuum to be a good choice of quality, form, function and price. Yes, you could pay a lot more (2 times) for a Vacuum made by that D company. How you choose to spend your money is your business.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I love this vac!!! its awesome. I like it so much ordered one for my mom. its even really quiet. I am still getting used to it. but I am very happy with it.

Cons: it you are one of those neat freaks you will wash the dust bin after each use. it gets dirty it holds dust and dirt. my daughter and one sister would wash it each time. I never will even though it looks better clean.

5 out of 5 eggsperformance machine

Pros: suction
hasn't plugged up

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Been using this vacuum for about 2 years now and I'm still impressed with it. We bought it for about $200 but it is now common to find it for 25% less than that. I would recommend this vacuum to anyone that wants an upright. I have used other way more expensive vacuums and this has beet them all especially considering the price. Never have tried a Dyson though and I hear great things about them after this vacuum I just can't see why someone would need to spend 2x to 3x for something that may or may not be marginally better.

5 out of 5 eggsThis vacuum sucks!

Pros: Everything comes apart to fit your needs, great for carpet and hardwood!

Cons: Can be a little confusing to figure out at first.

Other Thoughts: The Shark NV356E Navigator Lift-Away Professional vacuum doesn't just suck, it REALLY sucks and keeps on sucking, but don't worry you can adjust the suction to your desired need, which is just one of the many GREAT features on this vacuum!

Operating the Shark is like playing with a Transformer toy. It looks like a vacuum, but everything twists, turns and comes apart to turn it into the perfect vacuum to fit your needs.

Since owning this vacuum, my wife has not used it once. It's so light weight and easy to use, I pull it out of the closet all the time and run it throughout the house. The swivel head makes it VERY easy to get under the end tables, around the chairs and anywhere else that's needed! With a 30' power cord I can continue vacuuming without having to change outlets every few feet. For the stairs and really hard to reach places (like the tops of the curtains), with a couple of snaps, I just transform it to the Portable Lift-Away mode and I'm off and running. While the Portable Lift-Away mode is not very heavy (probably around 12 pounds), there is some weight to it. This may prove to be difficult to carry for someone with arthritis in their hands and senior citizens.

The power button has three options; Brush Roll ON, Bare Floor and OFF. This makes it easy to switch back and forth when you're going from hard floors to throw rugs, back to hardwood and then carpeting.

The attachments are all strong plastic and seem like they'll last a while (the hose extensions on our old vacuum all cracked and were being held together with duct tape). It even comes with a nice little cloth bag to store all your attachments in.

Since this is a bagless vacuum, you just have to unsnap the canister and dump it out. Careful when doing this, you'll want to do it over a larger garbage can and probably outside or in the garage. The first time I did it, I ended up with more dust and garbage on the floor than I did in the can! The filters are also reusable, just rinse it under water and let it dry. So, there are NO maintenance costs associated with this vacuum.

A lot of people complain about the whining noise the vacuum puts out. Personally, I think our old vacuum was much louder and didn't do anywhere near as good of a job.

If you're in the market for a new vacuum that will work on hardwood floors, tiled floors and carpeting, check out the Shark NV356E Navigator Lift-Away Pro. It's a vacuum that sucks and will keep on sucking for you!

2 out of 5 eggsLacks important design feature

Pros: Good for hard floor surfaces.

Cons: Lacks adjustable height, and brush is not actuated by motor. Binds and stops brush on simple, low pile rug. Would be a serious pain in the behind for plush carpet.

Some high pitch whining noise, but not as bad as the "brilliant idea" brand.

Other Thoughts: Not worth the price if you have much in the way of carpets. Might as well stick with lower price brands.
