1 out of 5 eggsNot a good experience

Pros: It's programmable

Cons: It's programmable and you can't trust it

Other Thoughts: Had this over a year and only used it 20 times. We wasted about 3 meals near the end of it's short life. It would not fully cook meals after 6-8 hours. Then finally on the last chicken cook it just died and never got hotter than warm. I contacted Hamilton Beach and although it was just out of warranty the most they offered was to sell me anything on their site for 50% off plus, tax/shipping which came to more money than buying from other online retailers. I told them I would never buy HB again as selling somebody something that only works 20 times is disgraceful.

4 out of 5 eggsGood But Not Perfect

Pros: Seems well constructed. Solid. We like the handles and rubber feet.

Cons: The probe feature is great but we have found it necessary a couple of times to place the probe in a second location and start again after the signal sounds that cooking is complete. Parts of the roast or chicken breasts are still not up to the set temperature. The second time doesn't take very long but you do need to check several portions of the meat to be sure the entire piece is at the correct temp.

Other Thoughts: Overall we're happy with the cooker except for this one caveat.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Thing is so nice! Love that you can set a temp, and when the meat gets to desired temp, it automatically turns itself down to low, got home after the first use and everything was perfect! Very easy to use (As long as you keep the book, because theirs a'lot of settings).

Cons: The 6qt doesn't come with the locking lid, but I'm not complaining!

4 out of 5 eggs1 cent part, part deux

Pros: Crock Pot cooks great. Love the probe cooking. Love how the temperature set on warm stays high enough not to worry about food contamination.

Cons: See previous review below entitled 1 cent part.

Other Thoughts: This is an update to a previous review. First I would like to encourage Newegg to code in a edit function for reviewers so reviewers like me don't have to write a whole new review when they want to update a previous review. But, that comment is neither here nor there. Yes that tiny 1 cent part that holds the probe jack feel off without me noticing it until it was no where to be found and I could no longer cook with my crock pot. But, to Hamilton Beach's credit they did get back to me right after my last review. They were very polite. Since the crock pot was within warrantee they agreed to send me a new crock pot. I just had to pick one out. I picked out a newer equivalent model. I then had to cut the cord of my broken crock pot and email the picture to them. I also had to call and give them my credit card number for $14.99 for shipping and handling. I felt bad about cutting the cord because it still worked well as a manual crock pot, but I could see why I had to do something to prove I wasn't just making up my problem to get a new crock pot. Well, anyway, I just wanted to say even though my crock pot broke Hamilton Beach did what I would consider a reasonable job making things right. Maybe they will put a little Loctite ® on the darn part that holds the probe jack, (Smile.)

2 out of 5 eggs1 cent part

Pros: Nice crock pot. Loved using the probe to cook. The warm setting kept the temperature high enough to function very well to keep things warm.

Cons: After a few months the very small nut that holds the probe jack fell off. I went to use the crock pot and the probe was inside the shell of the pot. I emailed Hamilton Beach asking that they send me the bolt and never heard back. I figure I can take it a apart and push the probe jack back through the shell and bolt it back on. Right now I am trying to find something that will fit it a the hardware store. I am not too happy about this.

5 out of 5 eggsLife Giver

Pros: I love this crock pot!!!
It does everything my old crock pot did and more.

The temp probe is very handy feature. It will automatically switch to warm once the desired temp has been reached. It isn't completely inaccurate either (took temp with a different probe and they matched).

You'd think the hole where the probe goes would let out moisture and heat, but the seal on the lid keeps a lot of the moisture in. In fact, I use less liquids with this model than my old one.

stews, ribs, pulled pork, chili..... make a big 'ol batch and freeze what you don't eat right away. Take to work and make everyone drool while you eat delicious and cheap food.

Cons: maybe a plug for the lid when you don't want to use the temp probe, but something that small would get lost quickly.

5 out of 5 eggsMakes my life easier!

Pros: Great product! All you have to do is load it up with the ingredients; set it and dinner is served in a few hours. It is more convenient than a pressure cooker. I made a delicious Jamaican stew a few days ago. I got it on special with free shipping.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Slow Cooker

Pros: Good size, digital timer, locking lid.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have been using this slow cooker for over a year and absolutely love it. It cooks food evenly. It the temperature stays consistent. Love the digital timer and programablility. I can prepare a meal in the morning, program it to cook on low for 8 hours, and then it lowers the temp to warm, and we have a great meal after work. The locking lid has come in handy for pot locks. No spilling. And the meat thermometer cooks roasts and meatloaf to a perfect temperature.

You will not be dissappointed.
