Dr. Who 11th Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver

The Doctor's multipurpose tool is a Gallifreyan device, with numerous settings, easily controlled with the press of his thumb. The Doctor has had many Sonic Screwdrivers of different designs throughout his life, and this latest one was created from within the TARDIS console itself after the previous one was destroyed during a confrontation with Prisoner Zero in the village of Leadworth.

This new Sonic Screwdriver is larger, with a luminous green light, and it continues to be an essential part of the Doctor's equipment as he explores the universe. This faithful copy of the Doctor's trusty sonic device has spring loaded extending action. Pressing the button on the side of the handle activates the LED and Sound FX which operates in closed mode. Flip open the cap at the end of the Screwdriver to reveal an additional button that activates the light and sound effects when it is in full extension, open mode. Requires 3 x L1154 batteries.

* This new sonic screwdriver is larger than previous ones
* Is complete with an LED green light and sound effects
* Has spring loaded extending action just like the Dr's
* Requires 3 L1154 type batteries

2 out of 5 eggsCheap build quality

Pros: Looks like it should.

Cons: I would have expected better build quality and materials for the cost.
Just an over priced "gimmick"

1 out of 5 eggsDOES NOTHING

Pros: looks cool

Cons: IS A TOY

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this for someone thinking that he could use it as a screwdriver... man, what a waste of $25!
Am I an idiot?

5 out of 5 eggsDocteroo's Sonic Screwdriver

Pros: Will drive any type of screw -- standard, Phillips, hex, octagonal, Arcturian toroidal, etc. -- hammers *most* nails, opens virtually any non-twist-off bottle top (handy down at the local, football matches, thrashings before/after). Works by means of chaotic "strange attractors". Also, due to the buzzing I suspect, 'strangely attractive' to birds. I suspect the Screwdriver may completely explain the presence of Billie Piper for a couple of seasons...

Cons: Instruction manual not in English. Come to that, instruction manual not in Earthling. Illustrations not terribly helpful either, as I do not have 2 thumbs on each hand, nor can I see in 5 dimensions. Not subtracting an egg, however: The device works (at least) as well as advertised, maybe better. I have to wait for my review from the Fourth Age of Krondor to post to see how well I liked it in the past/future...

Other Thoughts: Fish must get awfully tired of eating seafood...
