4 out of 5 eggsGreat Headphones

Pros: Great sound quality, cancels quite a bit of sound but after almost a year they don't as much, they look good, I can wear them for hours on end (10 hour plane flight) and not have the slightest discomfort.

Cons: Only I have to say is the cord being too small you have to be very careful with these. They are probably not meant for a high school student wearing them to school everyday. . About 8 months after owning these the cord is damaged and now I have to keep the cord at a specific angle for the right ear piece to have sound. but if you aren't wearing these out and about everyday then you should be fine.

Other Thoughts: Like I said the cord is very thin and wish it was replaceable and very sad to see these go since they were a gift and I adored these headphones so just keep in mind to take care of them, the rest is sturdy except for the end of the wire by the jack, if you plan to purchase these then be sure to take extra care if you plan to wear them every where you go

4 out of 5 eggsGreat sound, excellent design

Pros: Although I am not an "audiophile", I am a classical musician who is very used to listening to a variety of music on a variety of speakers, and I can truly say that these headphones sound very good. These headphones replaced a Sony pair on which the plug had broken off, and at first I was a bit worried that the very thin cord might cause some problems, but I have had these headphones for several months now, and there is now sign of wear even after heavy use (my workstation is practically in the dining room). I do take good care of them and I put them in a drawer when I'm not using them, but the cord, while giving the appearance of flimsy, is nevertheless quite sturdy.

Cons: I wear glasses, and these headphones do get slightly uncomfortable after long periods of time, which is the reason I detract one egg from my rating.

Other Thoughts: Awesome headphones, and although they are sometimes uncomfortable, that's just a good reminder to take a break from my work! I would definitely recommend these.

1 out of 5 eggsReally?

Pros: They can be worn for long periods...that's about it. They look cool, but that's not why I buy headphones. These sound simply horrible for the retail price. I've heard better sounding headphones from the dollar general store. The sound can only be described as pure neutral...all muddled together in an attempt to what? Sound bassy? These sound like an am reception to me. Will never purchase sennheiser again.

Cons: Had to buy these at a store, so i ended up paying $86 after taxes...glad i don't own a gun or I'd shoot myself

4 out of 5 eggsExceptionally well.

Pros: It's very well at blocking out noise, and the sound is great!

Cons: The cord is a bit flimsy...it'd be better to have a braided cord so you're not scared to pull it out of the headset so much. I also noticed if you lay down with your headset it'll usually fall off because of the wide range of motion that the headsets earphones have. Other than that,

I guess another complaint would be the sound levels. I wish there was a way to turn it up more. On some YouTube videos due to horrible editing, the audio levels are just way too low, so you have to press the headphones on your ears.

Other Thoughts: Really good headset, great sound, bass is great, very comfortable.

5 out of 5 eggsA Beautiful Product

Pros: Extremely comfortable
Great sound quality
Durable construction
Long cable
Amazing Value

Cons: Cable is a little bit thin

Other Thoughts: This is an awesome product. The sound quality is amazing out of the box, and keeps improving the more I listen to the hd428s. The cable is long, but come with a cable twist, which i use to keep shorter.

An amazing value for the small price I paid, thanks newegg, and a definite thumbs up on these headphones!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Very light on your head and very comfortable. My old, cheap headphones hurt my ears after 30 min or so, I've been wearing these for 4 hours as I type this and I can still feel my ears. The pleather material is soft and comfortable. Doesn't get hot even after hours of listening.

They sound sooooo crisp. They sound great right out of the box but they seem to be getting better; the bass is becoming more full, less flat. Other reviews told stories of the same thing. They also block out a great deal of outside noise. Muffles my grilfriend's voice quite nicely.

Holding them in your hands and just moving things around, they feel like a quality product. Minus the headband adjustment. I like the long cord, too. About 8ft long.

Cons: The cord is wirey. I don't care that it's thin (it is very thin), but it doesn't lay down nicely on my desk and has a mind of it's own.
The slider for adjusting the headband is loose and cheap-feeling. You can't notice it while you're wearing them so it doesn't really matter.
Wish the jack was a 90 degree angle instead of straight.

Other Thoughts: I've tried some of my friends' other brands and I found these to be more comfortable and more to my liking, mostly because of the price. These can be found elsewhere on the internet ~$10 less but you won't get Newegg support.

5 out of 5 eggsHead Phones

Pros: If you really enjoy a clear pure sound, these are the best over the ear head phones I've ever owned. I'm seriously taken back at how clear the sound is. Acoustic music, rap, jazz, metal, hardcore, dupstep, ANYTHING. It sounds amazing regardless. If you're really looking for BASS and or bass drops ... These are it!

Cons: Nothing at all.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: -Great sounds, highs mids and lows all come in great.
-Cord length, very long cord which is great.
-Good soundstage.
-Blocks out a good amount of noise without ruining the quality of the soundstage.
-Comfortable after broken in.

Cons: -Cord feels flimsy. But, then again, that doesn't mean it IS flimsy.

Other Thoughts: It takes a little messing with, at least for me, to find a comfortable position to wear them. At first my ears would get sore right away, but now I can wear them for hours with no affect. I think it has to do with breaking them in, as well.

Not sure why people are complaining about the base not being strong enough. If you like to appreciate music the way it's supposed to sound you will love these headphones and the tonal balance they have. If you want to ruin your hearing and the music with too much base, then buy a sub-woofer.
