Pros: The material is a good quality "Fur", the rope works fine cats love it , the wood is solid and the pillars are very rugged. It's definitely not a cheap setup. After completing the assembly it will stand tall (very tall) and stand w/out any tilting or lean (this is on carpet). Be careful with assembly , do not tighten the pillars too tight , get them firmly set into the base/platforms and leave them like that... I tightened one pillar and the screw/bolt popped out from the other side. No biggie the carpet held it in and it looks like a slight bump. The cats don't care and neither does my cousin. Just be careful and make the pillars firm and snug. Follow the easy directions and you should be fine. The color of the tree will fit any type of living room , den or basement. Very neutral. Just a side note There was no smell to the wood , rope , carpet or pillars... which is a good thing.

Cons: It can't be helped. The box this comes in is a big square heavy box. Granted I didn't have any problems but if you are purchasing this product be warned that it's heavy and a big package. Have someone help you. Ran into one problem , one of the pillars bolts popped out , it was my fault due to I tightened the pillar too tight into the base of wood/platform.

Other Thoughts: This was purchased as a birthday present for my cousin. The owner of two cats. Many times during the day each cat takes time assaulting the cat tree. I wouldn't have guessed at this type of treatment. They love the tree , they attack the rope pillars and climb to the top stay there for an hour or two then leave. They also beat the pudding out of the hanging mouse. Well worth the purchase , I caught it on sale... well worth it...
