5 out of 5 eggsPerfect bulb

Pros: I like the color of the light, the lifespan and low wattage are good also.

Cons: The bulb only projects light 180°, not an issue for me, but may be for others.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Bulb

Pros: I've been slowly replacing all our bulbs with LED bulbs and I'm very pleased with these so far. The light is far brighter than what I'd expect from a standard 40W bulb and the color is a very bright white.

Cons: None So Far. Some people in reviews have complained about the lag when applying power. Its about half a second to a full second.

So far no one in my home has commented on this being a nuisance, or it being overly long.

Other Thoughts: In this particular order, the initial order never arrived. I suspect the package was stolen. New Egg did its usual outstanding service. They offered me replacement or reimbursement. I chose replacement, and the new bulbs arrived in about 4 days.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat lights but HOT

Pros: - Energy efficient
- Instant on

Cons: - The color is lighter than your typical incandescent bulbs... the 3000k is actually more like 3200k color
- There is a gap between the heatsink and the plastic "bulb" area... looks cheap
- The bulb was manufactured back in early 2012... I bought these 2014...old bulbs, lots of stock?

Other Thoughts: It is interesting how the LED bulb actually works. Certainly the 120V in has to be converted to DC and then brought down to I assume 12v. The housing for the bulb is painted aluminum or steel casing. Unfortunately after having the bulb on for 1-2hours the housing will heat up to a toasty 62C. Verified with a infrared thermometer. That's quite hot. The area for the LED's gets to around 50-55C. Still quite hot for electrical components and I'd like to see a lower temperature. Now I know why people say that they shouldn't be placed in some type of housing... However, if you check the temperature of a regular incandescent, those are more around 70-90C.

The big downside for me is the over 3000k color when I purchased a 3000k bulb, its definitely around 3200k, the package states 3148k. Also, its unfortunate how old the bulbs already are. Either I got really old shelf stock or they just produce that many that don't get sold. Having the bulb 2 years old before they're even used is pretty bad. I just received these recently and I'm giving you my first impressions. Time will tell how long they last.

2 out of 5 eggsHOT ! HOT !!!!!!!

Pros: LED

Cons: Holly mackerel !!!!! THESE BULBS RUN HOT !! HOT ! HOT !!! These things are sooooooooo hot, you can't touch them, hotter than a regular 250 watt bulb. If they are used in an enclosed lamp, WOW. These are hotter than a boul for an Easybake oven ! WOW. HOTTTTTT !

Other Thoughts: HHHHHHOOOOOOTTTTTT!!!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsThey Work

Pros: The computer tower is located near the floor so this device offers a small, inexpensive, stable place to plug in USB devices on my workbench.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: The cradle has a rubber mat on the bottom and enough weight so that it doesn't slide around my work area. This is a good thing as it has a tendency to stay where you put it. You do have to hold on to the cradle to unplug your USB device so it is a two handed operation to disconnect things but for the price I don't consider it a con.

5 out of 5 eggsWork So Far

Pros: Room lights up when power is applied.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Only time will tell if they last long enough to justify the cost.

5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Good price ($10 on sale, per bulb), good wattage, good color temp. Time will tell on the longevity. I will be buying more.

Cons: Can't be used inside an enclosed fixture.

Other Thoughts: I've been buying a bunch of LED bulbs from different manufacturers for testing purposes. This manufacturer is towards the top of the list in value/performance.

4 out of 5 eggsNice and bright

Pros: These are bright enough for my small bathroom when installed in pairs. The light fixture points downward, the bulbs also direct light downward.
Sized like a regular bulb.

Cons: Cheaper with instant rebate but still too expensive per bulb.

Other Thoughts: I was worried after having read the review which stated they were annoyingly slow to turn on, I had to wait for maybe a QUARTER OF ONE SECOND for these to turn on. If you think this amount of start up time will annoy you don't buy these, if not I think you will be pleased! I know I was. Now lets see how long they last. I will post a follow up when they fail.

5 out of 5 eggsLove them

Pros: Give light like a 100W GE Soft White. Low power consumption means you can get a lot more light from lamps with the '60W Max' UL tags.

Cons: Design limits illumination to 180 degrees - best for directional or ceiling lamps.

Other Thoughts: Love these bulbs. It says they're '60 Watt replacement' bulbs, but to me they seem to give as much light as 100W GE Soft Whites. 40,000 hr life, they'll outlive me. Got two that arrived last week. After using them, I just ordered four more. Around $10 each, including shipping, seems high, but they only use 8% of the power of the ones they're replacing. Now I won't be falling off of chairs at 90, and breaking my hip, changing bulbs.

5 out of 5 eggsNice and bright

Pros: Bright natural white light. No flickering or delays compared to my old CFLs.

Cons: Price is still a bit high. I'm sure it'll eventually go down when they get really popular.

Other Thoughts: I ordered 3 of these during a price drop and have been using all three for about 2 months now. They are as bright or a little bit brighter than the "100w equivalent" CFLs I replaced. They were installed as my front porch lights that come on at night and go off in the morning with a timer and have been working consistently without any issues.
