1 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: It's a pretty color

Cons: Defective.
Useless in an emergency.

Other Thoughts: We just had over 24 hours without power. (Heavy snow. In May. Ah, summer in the Rockies.).

I bought this Black Friday, '13. I never took it out of the box, until yesterday, when I assembled it, and went to start it, and got nothing. For hours, I messed around with it, until it was dark, and I was playing with it outside in the snow, with a flashlight.

I finally figured out the problem was the fuel valve. No fuel was going through. Again, this was directly out of the box. Sort of a hugely important thing to need to work. My irritation is compounded by the fact that the sole purpose of buying this was to have it in an 'emergency'. The icing is this company doesn't even have a real web site, and their warranty's only a year --- but it doesn't matter, because you can't ship this back as soon as you put gas in it, so once you know it's not working, tough.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value.

Pros: Easy start. So easy it surprised me when I attempted to roll it over slowly just to spread the oil. Handle/Wheel kit included. L14-30 240v socket to connect to main circuit panel. Big enough to run my Forced air furnace plus home theatre, cable modem, etc. what more can you ask for?

Cons: The included funnel for engine oil is pure garbage. Buy a flexible funnel when you buy the quart of oil this generator doesn't come with. This isn't a big deal considering the price, so it's still 5 stars in my opinion.

The mouth of the tank is right in the middle, which makes filling awkward with some cans.

5 out of 5 eggsWeekend warrior`

Pros: Honda-like OHV engine, same design I've seen on power washers, etc...
Small, tight package. Durable quality.
Runs quiet!!!! A+++

Cons: Does not make breakfast or clean my boots

Other Thoughts: This thing will run an small room air conditioner if required. I plan to use it in case power goes out in the winter to run special needs equipment for our child. Also will be the perfect weekend warrior for my property down south. Will run a space heater no problem, plus ample lighting, entertainment, cooking, etc... Very happy with this genny.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet Generator

Pros: Quiet

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I received this model generator as a Christmas gift. It was easy to assemble. It is quieter than other budget generators I've used.

I can't attest to much about it as I've only fired it up once after assembling the wheels, but I was very impressed with how quiet it was.

4 out of 5 eggssolid, easy start and quiet

Pros: steel gas tank!
Easy enough to start that my daughter could start it with two pulls. Quite compact, fairly quiet even under load. Love that it came with wheel and handle kit.

Cons: Not much to complain about.. The oil filler is awkward to get to but a 2 piece angled funnel is included. It's a little flimsy but you'll be glad it's included. Obviously Durostar listened to oil filling complaints!

Other Thoughts: the only downside to a steel tank is potential for condensation but if you keep stabil in the gas and store out of the cold it should last a LONG time.
