We've been using to look at whales and other wildlife and scenery in Hawaii. It gets a real close view even when zoomed out. Cons: Tripod felt like the cheapest part, but works fine. Best price I found by at least $20. Wanted a low-price spotting scope for occasional target shooting and varmint hunting. I'm not doing anything highly important or technical with it (e.g. low light) -- just the basics. This one fits the bill. Nice scope. Cons: The tripod is functional but very basic and not refined.
