It has overheated and protection shut off the TV once, but everything was fine about 30 seconds later. In reference our old lamp did this maybe 2-3 times a year, but would stay off for 3-5 minutes. I haven't used the lamp yet, as the free shipping took too long to be without the big TV. So I purchased one from the local vendor where I purchased the TV. Easy replacement. Cons: No comment on the product itself as I already replaced it. So I'll keep this one for the next time the lamp fails (hopefully at least a couple of years from now). I just wish the free shipping was faster (it took about one week). With overnight shipping the total price would have eliminated this vendor from my choices. Did you find this review helpful? Other Thoughts: This is a great deal and should be bought ASAP. This price is usually what I would pay for an OEM lamp on NewEgg or the auction sites. Bought an extra as a spare! Saved the original housing, will order just the lamp next time. Cons: Thought I was ordering OEM part. Not the case. This lamp is not as bright as the original.
