When I tried using it with Skullcandy 50/50 headphones it was a failure. Sound only came into the left headphone and there was absolutely no mic pickup. Other Thoughts: The Skullcandy 50/50 headset states that it is only compatible with apple devices, but this product says it will work with iPhone headsets. The colored plugs don't even have the typical mic and headset symbols printed on them. I tried to use it to convert my single line headphone/mic signal to a dual signal on my laptop using Skype and it was extremely scratchy on both ends of the line. After nearly deafening my audience, I unplugged it and went back to using Skype on my phone without this device. Spend a little more money and get a better quality product.
