Pros: Seller has been responsive to my request to return the item but I am waiting to receive my shipping labels for the return.

I am giving 3 stars for responsive service but no higher since the item does not work as advertised.

Cons: The item was listed as made for Macs. Maybe my Toshiba HDTV is the problem; the colors on the TV screen were limited to purple and green.

I'll continue to use my iPad (original) to watch TV episodes and online videos.

Pros: After trying a few of these where the audio passthrough didn't work, I was thrilled when this one did. We're running Windows 7 on a Macbook Pro 13" (~early 2012 model) and connecting it to an Insignia (~Best Buy) television. It's also an attractive little adapter.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Setup Tip: Note that in Windows a new audio playback device shows up *only when the cable is plugged in on both ends, and the TV is on and tuned to that HDMI input*, at which time you can select that playback device (on the PC) ("set as default"). Unfortunately (at least on our PC), when you later unplug it, it sets the default back to the built-in speakers rather than the headphone jack... so we have to manually go back in and change it. Ho hum.

Pros: The cost, allows audio, fits perfectly with my 5970, plays and shows video and audio clearly. I bought this to work with my 5970 as i had read of other products only working with the video. I finally stumbled onto this product and cancelled another brand i had purchase on another site just a few minutes before i got this item (it also cost less @ newegg). I am super happy that i got this. It is every bit of a quality product that the reviewers here mentioned.

Cons: None what-so-ever. I connected this adapter to my 5970 mini port, plugged my 25' hdmi cable into it. Plug the hdmi cable into my 46' samsung hdtv. go to the ati ccc and configure the settings. Restart my computer and behold the beauty and it's sound. I started playing a game right away on it to see if it had any issues under pressure. But nope, everything worked as it should.
now i have my 46' hdtv, a samsung 27' lcd and 22' hannsG all connected to my card and it works without any problem what-so-ever. Now my wife watches a movie on the 46' hadtv while i am able to do my work or even a board game at the same time.

Other Thoughts: I have been a Newegg customer for years and i intend to keep shopping here. It's truly a great business to deal with and i have had no issue with them except once when a rep was rude to me and after reporting the matter it has been great customer service since then. Great products at a good price and excelent service.

Pros: My Macbook Pro can now pipe 1920x1080 video *and audio* -- even though I have Windows 7 installed on it -- through to my TV! Hallelujah!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Add a 30' HD cable to this and you're in business -- sit on the couch and use your laptop to drive your TV, with full HD digital video and audio. So nice.

To get it to work, on Windows 7, just plug it in, and switch the TV to the correct HD input. Then right-click the speaker icon in the systray (near the clock), select "Playback Devices", and you'll see a new one there, something like "Display Audio". (It only appears when the TV is connected, BTW.) Click on it, then "Set as Default", and now it will always send the audio to the TV (instead of your laptop speakers) when the TV is connected.

Note that I had an older (~2010) mini-Displayport-to-HDMI adapter that I bought from Apple, but it did *not* put the audio through (and 'Display Audio' didn't appear in the Playback Devices list).

Also make sure you have a newer Macbook Pro (I think sometime in 2011 they started supporting this -- just google it).

Pros: Works like it says it would. However, I didn't test the audio part since my laptop doesn't support the output of audio.

Cons: The cable looks and feels kind of cheap and not too durable. In addition I think the cable part is too plastic. it tends to retain it's shape after movement like memory foam.

Other Thoughts: Overall, for the associated price, it's quite good. Most other products that do the same cost around $30, so for the price I paid. I'm quite satisfied.

Other Thoughts: I made by decision after seeing Kanex name on apple website. I was doubtful before ordering but everything is fine so far. I dont know the other cables which are cheaper than this will work or not.

Pros: Works as described and seems to be of high quality build. I have only had it a week so can't yet comment on long term quality.

Cons: Does not support audio with my macbook. I have the white macbook and I believe this is an Apple issue. I tried turning on sound but it did not support it via Mac OS X. This is not the fault of the cable though. It is just Apple being, well, Apple.
