The 728B has a built-in smooth-moving 3 way head in cast aluminum suitable for use with small video cameras as well as with photographic equipment. The head has separate pan and tilt locks, a quick release camera plate and with a short pan/tilt bar for more ergonomic use, particularly while panning or tracking moving subjects. The leg pivot system uses a unique single hinge design in aluminum, which both keeps the cross section smaller and allows the leg to fold shorter than conventional tripods. The tripod is built with "D" profile tubular legs for extra torsional rigidity and quick flip leg locks for ease and speed of set-up. A quick action lever also blocks the reversible center column extension.

Cons: "Quick flip" leg tensioning break without provocation and for no reason. We use this tripod very lightly. Took about 5 minutes of use to regret the purchase. Decided to invest some more and got this one instead. Rock solid! This is a great tripod. Very well constructed and sturdy. The shape of the legs really make it rigid. The head has smooth fluid motion and will lock into position with no play whatsoever. The carrying case is great too. I was worried it wasn't light enough, it is, and It is rock solid. QR plate doesn't move at all, and it and the tripod are quick and easy to use. It is even better than I thought it would be. For my 3.1 digital camera it's PERFECT! I'm happy I didn't spend Less on a tripod, I love the 728B, and happy I didn't spend more on a heaver tripod. NewEgg is the best, and so is this tripod.
