Nintendo Wii Remote Controller

  • To make gaming as accessible to people of all ages and all abilities, Nintendo wanted to create a controller that was as inviting as it was sophisticated. The outcome is the Wii Remote controller. Nin

Nintendo not only cut the cord with their controller, they broke the mold! This innovative design put the gaming industry on notice that simply adding more buttons isn’t enough.

This sensitive infrared remote lets players take video gameplay to a completely new level by being able to control the strength and speed of their swing, line up their throw, or take better aim. No longer is a player limited by the controller and having to hit “X, Triangle, Circle” to swing at something. Now you can put proper “body English” into your moves!

The intelligently designed remote goes beyond point and click. The four blue LED lights on its bottom indicate which player position the remote is currently using. Set up is a snap, as it automatically connects to the Wii wirelessly via Bluetooth. An expansion port also lets you connect other controllers, including the Nunchuk and Classic controllers (sold separately). Adjustable rumble force-feedback helps you get further into the game; you can feel when you “connect” with the ball in “Wii Sports” or hit your foe with your sword. This is the controller that puts control back in your hand.

  • newegg Wireless Gaming Experience The Nintendo Wii remote controller combines pointing and motion-sensing capabilities with wireless technology for an more interactive gaming experience!

1 out of 5 eggsReceived 3rd-party knockoffs

Pros: Only one of the two boxes was crushed.

Cons: When ordering what is clearly advertised as an official, white Nintendo Wii controller (the picture clearly says 'Wii' on the remote), I am prone to extreme displeasure when I receive black, 3rd-party "Shiro" remotes.

Very deceitful seller. I wonder how there are so many good reviews before mine?

Other Thoughts: I ordered OEM Wii controllers (white), and received 3rd-party "Shiro" controllers (black).

Deceitful seller - steer clear.

5 out of 5 eggsNintendo Gear

Pros: Light, Wireless, Accurate, and Innovative. This is something that makes you think it will be odd to play a game, but once you start playing, you forget about it, and it almost becomes natural.

Cons: If you put a "Glove" on it, it is hard to change batteries. Also, no charging station setup without 3rd party hardware.

Other Thoughts: I really would have loved if Nintendo made the batteries rechargeable, and set up some king of charging cradle for them, because changing batteries gets to be a pain. Of course, I got color coded gloves for them, so they look cute, so that is half the issue.

5 out of 5 eggsThe best controler made

Pros: This Wii Remote makes the Wii because the Wii is nothing withought it. The IR is very accurate. You can point at the screen, punch someone, waggle it, etc. I don't think that I'll ever use another controller again...

Like all of Nintendo products, this is very durable. But I'm not sure about your T.V.

Cons: It doesn't have rechargable batteries, you have to buy it seperate which are made by 3rd Party companies. After playing some FPS games on the Wii Remote and then when I played other FPSs which uses dual analog it really felt wierd.

Other Thoughts: If you have a Wii and you need a Wii Remote you should definitly get this. Have friends over a lot or have a sibling you want to play with? Get this.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Wiimote.
Need I say more?

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Rechargable batteries are a godsend, and they aren't so expensive either. Nintendo is awesome, hope the system lasts longer than my 360.

5 out of 5 eggsDon't Read - Buy - NOW

Pros: Very interesting style and play.

Cons: If you game A LOT, You WILL need NiMH rechargeable batteries. Alkaline batteries last 60 hours max if you use none of the motion-detection features. Many games do not use all of its potential as of now - June 2007

Other Thoughts: My reason was that I recently read that the Remote posses a mini microphone in them. so Nintendo is really hiding things

5 out of 5 eggsNintendo has done it again!

Pros: Flawless design. respsonsive controls. VERY durable.

Cons: When playing games like zelda, its uncomfortable to be playing with the d-pad and then have to reach ALL the way down to the 1 and 2 buttons. could have been a little higher up on the controller.

Other Thoughts: I want to give props to nintendo. only with the wii could get my 65 year old grandpa
off the couch to play wii boxing with me. incredible.
