  • newegg Dect 6.0 PLUS By increasing the frequency of error correction up to 80x, the transmission quality is improved and the phone's range is extended. Engineered to work in 1.9GHz frequency, the DECT 6.0 phones won't conflict with common wireless devices such as 2.4GHz routers, wireless keyboards and mice, microwave ovens and other household items. And because it's digital, you'll enjoy long range and clear sound while deterring eavesdropping.
  • newegg Intelligent Eco Mode The Intelligent Eco-Mode system will reduce power consumption when the handsets are used close the base. Not only does it extend the available talk time, it's good for the environment. When less power is used by the handset to communicate with the base unit, battery life is prolonged which results in less frequent charging and can result in fewer batteries in landfills.
  • newegg Call Block Store the Caller ID info of any and all unwanted callers into your home's Call Block list so that you can eliminate future pesky calls from them and they'll get a busy signal if they call you again.
  • newegg Silent Mode Now you can program each handset to ring or not at your discretion. For example, before you go to sleep, set the bedside handset to Silent Mode so that it won't ring for the duration of your slumber. In the meantime, the handset in another room is unaffected, and rings as usual.
  • newegg Smart Wall-Mount Handsets feature a sleek, low profile base unit with a reversible pedestal. These models are ideal for kitchen use because they do not take up a lot of room on a desk or countertop, and they can be quickly and easily mounted to a wall by using the reverse side of the pedestal.
  • newegg Non-Slip Handset Multi-tasking while you are talking on a cordless handset - whether it's jotting down a quick note, pouring a glass of juice or folding a few pieces of laundry - is often difficult due to the tendency of the handset to slip as you cradle it on your shoulder. The rubberized grip helps prevent slipping, making it easier and more comfortable to cradle the phone when you want to work with your hands.

4 out of 5 eggsGood All-Around System

Pros: Good quality system offering many useful features. The easy-to-read display screen is noticeably larger than the screen on older Panasonic phones. Very nice lighted keypad, and the use of "AAA" batteries is always a plus.

Cons: Menu system is less intuitive than older Panasonic models. Hold-on to your user's manual, you will likely want the program "codes" for various features. Talking caller ID pronunciation/synthesized voice can be hard to understand.

Other Thoughts: My experience over the years with Panasonic phones has always been positive. Although talking caller ID may be useful for some, I find it annoying - this feature can be disabled.

5 out of 5 eggsfine cordless phone

Pros: good sound quality
small, light and looks good
decent battery life
clear display

Cons: Some consider it a plus -- but it does not make any sounds when battery is low.
Only way yo find out is look, and see its dead :)

Other Thoughts: I don't use the "answering machine", so I can't comment on its functionality. But I always go back to this make for phone systems -- this is not my first Panasonic.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for Vonage !

Pros: While there are many features, they are reasonably easy to access. Batterys are standard AAA Ni-MH and offer excellent standby/talk time. I use talking Caller ID, and for especially pesky calls, adding them to blocked calls is very easy (also easy to remove them from blocked). although this model has answer/message capability - I disabled it and it also supports Voice Mail (blinky light when VM message, and VM Access can easily be programmed to include access code). Each handset/charger will go to 'green' mode when batteries are charged (to use almost no power till either a call comes in or a handset is replaced). I wanted 3 handsets because I'm using Vonage and did not want to rewire my home phone lines - delighted to discover that the handsets have intercom function as well (you can 'call' another specific handset, not part of phone function - although you can pick up on all 3 handsets for a call, it also can be configured to 'privacy' to prevent others from listening). Speakerphone.

Cons: Speakerphone is not very loud, adaquate, but not so good across a room.

Other Thoughts: Also has ability to store numbers (directory). When accessing menu functions - LOOK for the 3 buttons below the display (I'd initially missed them and was trying to use the up/down/right/left center button - which is used to access submenus). Of course also supports call waiting. Voice quality is very good (Vonage echos slightly at the speed I've set Vonage's bandwith).
For the price, it's quite a good deal. Thanks to Newegg for listing the specs in detail.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Phone

Pros: Overall Great quality.
Clear sound and good range.
Easy to use without the book.
Takes standard AAA NiMh batteries.

Cons: Earpiece volume should go louder. If you are not in a quite room, it can be hard to hear the person you are speaking to (volume is all the way up).

Other Thoughts: Headset volume is a bit louder than the earpiece. Speaker phone volume is pretty loud.

2 out of 5 eggsLots of features, but misses the mark

Pros: * Good voice quality
* Uses AAA batteries instead of proprietary ones
* Lots of nice features (naming handsets, accessing messages, etc)
* Has a headset jack.

Cons: * Menus are slow to respond. Very annoying.
* When you dial, then press talk, it sends the numbers very slowly
* When you answer a call, you have to wait a second or two before saying "hello", or you won't be heard
* The voicemail/messages light is only on the top. Can't see it from the front.
* Can't save numbers from the redial list into the address book

Other Thoughts: Biggest gripe is the menu system. It is painfully slow, so it takes longer to do anything. Too bad, because the voice quality and the feel of the phone are quite nice.

Returning it for a different brand.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Phones

Pros: These phones will be replacing my "Not So Good" Uniden
phone set, which I had nothing but problems with...

Cons: I paid $20.00 more for this set at a major local retailer just 3 days ago:~( A little too late for this NewEgg deal.
