The camera is a feature I didn't expect to use, but really grew on me. It takes decent quality photos, akin to those taken by most digital cameras in the early 2000's. Internal speaker sounds much better, not incredibly tinny like the iPod 3rd generation. The display on this is BEAUTIFUL. Cons: The ridicule I get from my tech friends when people on the street ask me "So are you an Apple guy?" And I glare at them from behind my iPad\iPod and say "Not really, just like their mobile devices." Other Thoughts: Great device. When I first got my iPod (3rd gen) I thought of it as a toy, but it's become an essential part of my digital life, and if it got run over by a car I'd order another one at the drop of a hat. Cons: Sound quality is GARBAGE! Good quality headphones help, but most music is tinny. EQ options are a joke. Other Thoughts: Very disappointed. Apps are great, wifi works great can skype in quiter enviroments no problem. Cons: Here's the big con.. The sound quality playback of mp3's is bad. My old Iriver T10 sounds so much better. I tried a lot of different encodings (mp3+ aac) listening with either phones or the line out with dissapointing results. Encoding cd's with Apple lossless is better... But that's not the point.. Itunes interface is a royal pain... Other Thoughts: Buy the smallest gb version for the WiFi , apps and casual music listening. Maybe its just me, but the sound is "cleaner" on this 4th gen compared to my 3rd with the same bitrate music samples I listened to. Cons: Can't really think of any at this time. However, the price could be better! Never had a problem with Apples products and I have had numerous ones (iPod, iPod Nano, iPod Touch, iPhone) Other Thoughts: Overall a great mp3 player amongst other things. Just be sure to pick up a case and/or a screen protector! I recommend the InvisibleShield. Got this on my iPhone and it is awesome! 2 out of 4 people found this review helpful. Did you?
