5 out of 5 eggsGREAT

Pros: works great, low price, reliable. No packet loss yet after 2 months of use. Seems to work much better then the motorola.

Cons: Most will have to call comcast to get the mac address registered and that can mean a long time on phone. I didnt deduct any stars for this since its a comcast problem.

Other Thoughts: not much end user info like others stated here but not a big deal. like always newegg rocks with there fast shipping. Comcast wouldnt register it then said it wasnt allowed but after alot of persistance they made it work. So dont give up if they initially say no seems they dont want to lose there monthly fee for there cable modem.

Pros: got the modem in 2 days or less. looks nice but..

Cons: called comcast to use it. and they could not get it to be provision. after they had a tech out to my house 2x's and on the phone for 2hrs yesterday. it was that some one else in another state with this same modem. has the same MAC address. so after all is said and done. i have to return this modem since ZOOM tech support said they "never produce a modem with the same MAC. so this is going back and i am going with the Dlink DCM 202 modem which i know will work and won't have another modem with the same MAC some were else.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It works if you're looking for a simple cable modem to own, especially if you're moving a lot.

Cons: Not many, if any. Seems to work best if you leave it horizontal instead of vertical. Stand on bottom is tiny.

5 out of 5 eggsGood deal

Pros: Low price, reliable, plug and play.

This Zoom 5142 runs a bit faster than the Motorola SB5120 that it replaced. Motorola was starting to give small amounts of packet loss, upto 17% after running for several days straight. Rather than having to reset it all the time, I swapped it out with this Zoom.

Cons: After installing it on Comcast network, there's no web page to check status. 192.168.100.1 works on the Motorola, but not the Zoom.

Other Thoughts: Cable modems don't generally provide a lot of end-user status information other than the green lights.
